Sublime Music takes focus as the 6th Annual Haitian Independence
Festival sets out to leave an indelible mark on Downtown Miami

November 25, 2008 - Downtown Miami - For six consecutive years music enthusiasts have reveled in the uproarious party that is the Haitian Independence Festival. Downtown Miami transforms itself into a musical mecca as thousands gather to ring in the New Year at the city's largest celebration in January. Delivering excellence has remained a priority and this year Voila, in conjunction with Kaliko Productions, is proud to bring the same level of prestige to the Caribbean community as they mark the special occasion
of Haiti's emancipation on January 1, 1804, a date that denotes reflection, significance and of course celebration.

With a stellar line-up which includes Haiti's most popular, sought after and highly demanded groups such as CaRiMi, T-Vice, Nu Look, Krezi Mizik, Zenglen, Hangout, Suave, Gabel and Djakout Mizik, the 6th Annual Haitian Independence Festival is equally pleased to include the world-renowned group Kassav. Infusing these fan favorites has solidified the necessity of being in Miami on January 17, 2009 to enjoy first hand the quality show masterminded by these groups and Kaliko Productions. An added bonus that has helped propel the festival in terms of variety and diversity is the addition of ROCKFAM, an extra antidote that has helped maintain the Haitian Independence Festival's general consensus of the importance of variety. From Compas Direct and Nouvel Jenerasyon to Zouk and Kreyol Rap, this year's festival has a little something for all palettes.

The 6th Annual Haitian Independence Festival does not commence solely on Saturday, January 17, 2009, a Press Conference for the media, artists and sponsors is set for Friday, January 16, 2009 where the Official Party will follow with Carimi and T-Vice at the Kick-off Party at Club Space in Downtown Miami. Sunday, January 18, 2009 the party continues with Djakout Mizik and Krezi Mizik at Marabou Café in Pembroke Pines before halting in an upbeat fashion with Nu Look and Carimi at Bouyon Night on Monday, January 19, 2009. The weekend's celebration will be a fun-filled, exciting time of massive enjoyment and an overabundance of amusement that is sure to please all those persons from Boston, New York, Canada, Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyane and of course Miami who have eagerly enjoyed this festival for five successive years.
