| Only 2 Weeks Left to Help Defeat SQ 744! |  The broad and bipartisan coalition standing against this dangerous initiative has grown to over 80 groups, including almost 30 local chambers and economic development organizations statewide, but we still need your help!
The State Chamber is working closely with the ONE Oklahoma Coalition to defeat SQ 744 this November. Next year will likely be the most financially challenging year for our state given the lack of funds available to fill budget holes. If SQ 744 were to pass, the economic ramifications would be disastrous for our state. Passage of this reckless state question puts all of our incentives and economic development momentum seriously at risk. There is nothing more pressing between now and November than defeating this reckless initiative.

2011 Oklahoma Economic Development Summit
| The 2011 Oklahoma Economic Development Summit will take place on October 2-4th, 2011 at the Embassy Suites in Norman, OK. The title of the Summit is currently (subject to refinement) "Creating a Global, Social Sustainable Strategic Framework in Oklahoma for the New Economy".
OEDC plans for this conference to be very different...different from any other conference you attend. We're planning on 1 ½ days of instruction, presentations and idea generation, followed by ½ day of roundtable discussion and planning. At the end of the Summit, the hope is to have the beginnings of a work-product/strategic vision/plan for Oklahoma.
OEDC wants this to be a watershed event in Oklahoma. We want to change the way we view ourselves and our approach to improving our economic climate.
