Happy Holidays!

Our United Way would like to thank all of our generous donors for their support throughout the year.  Together, we can build stronger communities and help those in need.  Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season!

United Way Decorated Holiday Tree

Our United Way has a decorated tree on display at Fellows Riverside Gardens as part of their Winter Celebration.  The theme this year is "Merry & Bright" and the Gardens will be whimsical the entire month of December.  The holiday trees will be on display in the Davis Center from December 3rd through December 31st.  Our United Way thanks Fellows Riverside Gardens for letting us take part again in their Winter Celebration.

YSU Greek System's "Stuff the Bus" Collection

As part of their Greek Week festivities last month in Kilcawley Center, the YSU Greek System helped the United Way "Stuff the Bus" for needy children this holiday season.

It was the third annual collection for the Greek System.  Several bags of toys were collected and provided to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley for distribution as part of the University's United Way Campaign.

The toys were distributed to our United Way partner agencies for children in need.

Target Share-A-Tree
Target Share-A-TreeAs part of its annual Share-A-Tree program, Boardman Target is donating two decorated holiday trees to our United Way.

The trees will be given to two families in need in the Mahoning Valley.  In addition to the trees, Target is donating toys for all of the children.

Northside Medical Center Annual Tree Lighting

On Monday, December 5, Northside Medical Center invited our United Way to be part of their annual tree lighting.  Dr. Cynthia Anderson, YSU President, and 2011 United Way Campaign Chair, had the honor of lighting the 5,500 lights on the tree as the crowd of Northside Medical Center employees looked on.

The tree lighting marked the end of the Northside Medical Center 2011 United Way Campaign.  Our United Way was presented with a $25,000 check for the 2011 Campaign.
