Eric Wolford and Bob Hannon Set to Ring Bell for Salvation Army Thursday

Red Kettle Campaign

YSU Football Coach Eric Wolford and United Way President Bob Hannon will be ringing the bells for Salvation Army this Thursday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Austintown Walmart Supercenter.

The Salvation Army has set a goal to raise $300,000 this holiday season through the Red Kettle Campaign.  The money raised will be used throughout 2011 to bring assistance to those in need in the Mahoning Valley.

If every person who passes the Red Kettle puts in just $1 The Salvation Army will easily reach their goal.
As you finish your holiday shopping, please consider this when passing a Red Kettle.  Thank you for LIVING UNITED!
Target Helps Families in Need through Share-A-Tree Program

Target Share-A-TreeAs part of its annual Share-A-Tree program, Boardman Target donated two decorated holiday trees to our United Way.

The trees were given to two families in need in the Mahoning Valley.  In addition to the trees, Target donated toys, clothes, hats, mittens, stockings and candys for all the children.

We thank Target for their help in making the holidays brighter for two families in need.

Tamarkin Company Donates Angels

AngelsThe Tamarkin Company donated 175 angels to our United Way for distribution.  Volunteers wrapped them for distribution to women at the Beatitude House, Sojourner House, YWCA, and to the elderly at Visiting Nurse Association.

Tamarkin also donated 250 angel night lights that were wrapped and distributed to our United Way partner agencies.  We thank the Tamarkin Company for this generous donation.

We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another.
