Happy Spring to you all,
I would like to thank Matt Montgomery, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Isabella Stewart Garner Museum for a very successful May all member meeting. Our members are very grateful to have been able to enjoy the delicious sampling of food from Café G, the wonderful concert and the opportunity to stroll the museum at their leisure. Everyone said, now they are so much better informed to share their experiences with their visitors and guests.
Although, I was out of town and unable to be with you, I was kept in the loop by so many of our members calling, texting and e-mailing me their praise of Sabrina Lesqourgues and the GBCA board for the outstanding job they did in facilitating the meeting in my absence. I am so proud of Sabrina and the team for the outstanding job that they did. Thank you all again for your support.
I would also like to thank our very special guest speakers, Julie Doherty Pagano; General Manager of Bay State Cruise Company, Chris Elias; Director of Premium Seating Sales for Live Nation and Joe Donlavey; Director of Ticketing, Tourism & Special Events Arts Boston. Our members really value the information they received from these very informative speakers.
I am proud to say the GBCA did not disappoint Les Clefs d'Or with its "Boston Package" donations. Boston came way out ahead with a package containing overnight stays, theater tickets, boat cruises, tours and more. The Boston Package was valued at $5000.00. The money raised from ticket sales for this package and others is donated to the Les Clefs d'Or Foundation that assists concierges and their family in times of illness. Thank you to all of you that made this donation possible. I have attached a list of the items donated by our members and friends Les Clefs d'Or Boston Package
I want to also thank our members and especially Bob Schwartz for the outstanding job they did in hosting this years Affiliate Trade Show. Bob has proven to be an incredible event planner as well as an outstanding Affiliate Representative and great friend to us all. It was through the hard work and dedication of Bob and his volunteers that made this the larges trade show ever and a huge success. I also want to thank all our members for the $1000.00 donation we were able to make to the Les Clefs d'Or Foundation in the memory of our close friend Willie Hackett who had been a recipient of the foundations support during his illness in March. We will miss him dearly, never forget him, may he rest in peace. There is so much more I would love to tell you, but it will have to wait. I look forward to seeing you all at our next GBCA all member meeting on Monday June 18th when we will all be treated to the unveiling of the new Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. Thank you again for all your continued support, In Service through Friendship Betty Salemme, President.

Missed April's News Letter?
Your not alone... Our Apologies

|
Dear GBCA Members,
I first would like to apologize for not having sent out our April Newsletter. My technology was compromised by the size many Photos, Videos and Documents related to our association's amazing first 5 meetings of 2012. These images and documents are now saved for future GBCA Boards to use via an external storage device.
Betty has worked very hard to put together amazing meetings and is on course to provide one of our most memorable years. Betty uses the platform of our monthly newsletter to provide a heartfelt and gracious thank you to our amazing hosts, and sneak peeks into upcoming events and meetings. I was equally disappointed and frustrated not being able to share with you her thoughts
With Betty's restored faith and some new technology We forge onward to keep in place, this newsletter platform so it will be available for our board and affiliate members to share their messages with you.
This two month newsletter is larger than normal. You will find a second letter from Betty recapping our March Meeting. Our apologies for any confusion.
Thank you,
David Sargent

Dear Members and Friends,
I would like to thank everyone who made our "Shop Till You Drop" meeting and event such a great success. We had over eighty members join us for a fun filled shopping experience with Macy's Department Store before enjoying our meeting and reception at Petit Robert Central Bistro. A special thank you to Donna Johanson; Macys by Appointment Personal Shopper and Chandra Madore; Manager at Petit Robert Central Bistro for helping us create a very special, new and exciting evening.
I would also like to thank Farther Joseph from St. Anthony's Shrine, the Arch Street Church for his very warm, kind and caring memorial for our good friend Willie Hackett; Chef Concierge at the Langham Hotel, Concierge of the Year award winner, Les Clefs d'Or Concierge and active member of the GBCA, who has left us way too soon. Farther Joseph's words and the out pouring of support were a true testimonial to a great concierge and true friend.
Tim Montgomery Publisher and President of Panorama served as our member guest speaker. Congratulations to Panorama for their 60 years of publication in Boston. Panorama has been a long time friend and supporter of the concierge community and a great friend of the GBCA. Thank you again for all of your support.
More fun and exciting events are coming our way with the next GBCA meeting being hosted by the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum on May 3, 2012. And continuing on June 25, 2012 our meeting will be hosted by the new, exciting, long awaited Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. Watch for your invitations and be sure to RSVP. I look forward to seeing you all on May 3, 2012. Until then enjoy the spring weather, in service through friendship.
Betty Salemme President.
