Center for Inspired Teaching is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that exists to ensure schools make the most of children's innate desire to learn. We do this by investing in teachers. Please visit our website to learn more about our philosophy, programs, and results.
Thank You
As you finish the last days of this school year we hope you'll take time to reflect on your accomplishments over the past several months. At Inspired Teaching we would like to thank you (with a little poem) for all the effort you put into your class this year. Our schools are better places to learn, and our kids grow more each year thanks to the time and dedication of truly Inspired Teachers.

We will continue to send you newsletters this summer, hopefully filling your well-rested mind with ideas for the school year ahead. May your days be long and sunny and your nights filled with much deserved sleep!

Ode to the Inspired Teacher

Every day you've shared your passion
For each subject and its skills,
For the children and their futures,
For their minds and their wills.

You've labored in the building
Of relationships, through trust
That you earned in every effort
To be kind, and fair, and just.

You studied all your students
Like they studied what you taught
And found a way to reach them,
(Even those your peers could not.)

You could have played it easy,
In a box you could have stayed.
But instead you looked for challenge
And from the script you strayed.

You let your students' interests
Guide the things you taught,
Creating problems for them to solve,
Encouraging deep thought

You rarely gave them answers
Using questions as a tool
To let their imaginations fly
Each day they came to school.

Students weren't the only ones
Who learned inside your room.
YOU were also learning,
As you taught their minds to zoom.

And at the close of every day
You'd stop and you'd reflect
On what went well, on what went wrong,
On what you could perfect.

And now at last you get a break
From school, and kids, and teaching
But you'll likely still be thinking
Of your class while you are beaching

You'll look to fall, not far away,
When a new class you'll meet,
filled with great adventures,
Lessons, dreams, and hopes, to greet

Oh Inspired Teacher,
you're tackling the endeavor
Of being the sort of teacher
That students love forever.

Iloveschools.com
On this site teachers can build WishLists of equipment, materials and supplies; anything they need for their classroom. Donors locate teachers through the WishList search and offer their donations of new or used items or the cost of the teacher's WishList. There are already several DC schools registered, if yours is not registered the process is fairly easy and can be completed online.
