Greetings!
Hello! It's time to celebrate teachers with National Teacher Day on Tuesday May 6, and Teacher Appreciation Week from May 4-10, 2008.
The Inspired Teacher Essay Contest highlighted the hard work of local teachers. Winning student essayists and their teacher honorees are featured in today's Washington Post KidsPost online and in print. You can also read the full essays on Inspired Teaching's website, and excerpts from all entries will be posted there shortly. Congratulations to all the students who participated, and to all their Inspired Teachers! Center for Inspired Teaching was one of five DC organizations featured in a short film and screened at the Council on Foundations plenary. Executive Director Aleta Margolis opened ABC 7's "Good Morning, Washington" last week, wishing a good day to area residents.
Program staff is working with partner schools as they wrap up the year and prepare for year-end celebrations.
Our course schedule for the year is wrapping up, but applications are now being accepted for the 2008-2009 Inspired Teaching Institute so get the teachers in your life involved!
