Master Jia Shusen began practicing long fist and Shaolin at a very young age. In 1979, he was accepted as the inner circle disciple of Master Li Wenzhang and studied Yin and Cheng Style Ba Gua Zhang and their weapons. During this period, Master Jia also learned Wu Style Taiji and Xing Yi under the instruction of Master Wang Rongtang.
Master Jia Shusen has been a long-time inner circle disciple of Professor He Puren, studying Cao style Ba Gua and San Tong Fire needle Acupuncture therapy with him since 1983. In his healing work Master Jia uses Taiji and Ba Gua Zhang theory in diagnosis and applies Taiji and Ba Gua Zhang energy as well as Qigong and dietetic principles to treat illness.
From the 1980's to the early 1990's, Master Jia studied Sanda and applications of Chinese Martial Arts with renowned martial artist Mei Huizhi. Master Jia was the deputy secretary general of the Chinese Martial Arts Applications Research Institute and engaged in coaching and organizing Sanda competitions. He also served as the commissioner and director of the Beijing Wushu Association.
In 1993, Master Li Wenzhang recommended Jia Shusen to Cheng Style Ba Gua Zhang lineage holder Master Sun Zhijun. Thus, he became the inner circle disciple of Master Sun and studied hard Cheng Style Ba Gua Zhang and its weapons.
In 2004, Mr. Jia Shusen was elected as 3rd president of the Ba Gua Zhang Research Institute. In 2008, Mr. Jia Shusen was accepted as the inner circle disciple of Chen Style Taiji lineage holder Master Feng Zhiqiang, and studied Chen style Taiji, Hunyuan Taiji and their weapons.
