The Code of the Spine

" Why are the Back-Shu Points located in their specific order? Because the Nei Jing says so?  - well Yes!
but there is a hidden energetic code to the arrangement of the Back-Shu points. The purpose of this seminar is to teach you this code.
Each of the vertebrae of the spine and each of the
paraspinal acupuncture points and Back-Shu points reflect a specific five element or six phase correspondence. Knowing the code enables us to more accurately diagnose organ and channel imbalances and treat the whole person from the back and spine."

The Code of the Spine

Exploring the Evolutionary Intelligence
of the spine and the Back Shu-Point zones

snow on branches

This is a seminar about the esoteric anatomy of the human spine and each of the vertebrae.

This seminar is appropriate for any healer who wants to work more consciously with the spine,
including acupuncturists, Qigong practitioners, chiropractors, osteopaths and bodyworkers.

The code of the spine is the evolutionary map represented in the spine and the para-spinal points. This map is the underlying system which gives rise to the TCM Back Shu point locations.
In this seminar we will explore:
  • The relationship of the sacrum and the lumbar spine to the Five Elements of Chinese medicine. Each of the sacral and lumbar vertebrae corresponds to a specific element.
  • The relationship of the thoracic spine to the six  phases
    (Tai Yang, Tai Yin etc)
  • The relationship of the cervical spine to the seven chakras
of the Indian Yoga system and the seven elements.
  • The exiting cranial nerves and their relationship to the 12 earthly branches - cosmic energies of Chinese Taoist thought which move from Heaven to Earth.
  • The ancestor realm influences which move from the G. B. channel zone to the outer U.B. line
  • The Hun influences which move from the outer U.B. line to the inner U.B. line
  • The P'o influences  which move from the inner U.B. line to the HuaTo JiaJi line
  • QI and Jing consolidation moving from the HuaTo JiaJi line to the Du channel and spinal cord

We will also examine the following 'laddering' of evolutionary influences which starts with embryological somite distinctions and is represented in the adult thus:

    • the cocccygeal segments representing the unicellular stage of consciousness and the fundamental bliss-consciousness of the body
    • the sacral vertebrae representing the insectoid stage of consciousness and the structural integrity of the physical body
    • the lumbar vertebrae representing the reptilian stages of consciousness and the five forces within the Qi body
    • the thoraccic vertebrae representing the mammalian stage of consciousness and the 12 personality distinctions of the human personality
    • the cervical vertebrae representing the seven developmental levels of the human Shen
    • the cranial plates of the skull representing the evolutionary encoding of the mind of God or  'higher' human consciousness

  • Massage and palpation to identify the patterns of imbalance
  • Qi diagnosis of the channels relative to the back Shu points
  • Working with the sacrum, the sacroiliac joints and the pelvis
  • Working with the shoulder blades and shoulders
  • working with the neck and the skull
  • the use of essential oils, magnets and crystals to rebalance five element, six phase and seven chakra energetics expressed in the spine and back Shu points

    back Shu points

How I Teach:

Seminars are divided between Qigong, lecture, guided meditation specific to the subject, demonstration of clinical applications and hands-on practice of clinical skills in a clinical setting.

I have found that this multi-sensorial and levels-of-consciousness approach is the best method of teaching the depth of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I have noticed that learning Chinese medicine is a spiral process; you may pass by the same material many times, at each pass integrating more.

Notes and Audio recordings of the lectures will be available.

If you have any questions feel free to call Adam on 408 476 9799

I look forward to connecting with you
