"The greatest thing a human soul ever does in this world
is to see something and tell what it saw in a plain way.
Hundreds of people can talk for one who can think, and
thousands can think for one who can see. To see clearly
is poetry, philosophy, and religion all in one."
Eudora Welty

Reboot & Shoot Photography Workshop
September 25-28, 2008
with Jan Phillips

a body/mind/soul experience in the heart of Mother Nature

Photography is an act of looking that can lead to flashes of surprising insight and open doors to a deeper knowing. This workshop, incorporating photographs and videos, poetry and music, makes a compelling case for the claim "a picture is
worth a thousand words." It illustrates the power of images to alter our inner space, heal our brokenness, and change our consciousness. We'll be shooting in
the mornings and after
noons and sharing our work in the evenings, with lots of
sup
portive input.

· become a better editor of your own work
· learn the distinctions between a snapshot and a photograph
· fine tune your skills in composition, framing and focus
· discover what is meant by the "healing power of photography"
· become the master of your camera's controls

To make images is a way of ordering one's world, of exploring and understanding one's relationship to existence...The images we make are often ahead of our understanding, but to say 'yes' to a subject is also to have recognized, however dimly, a part of oneself; to live with that image, to accept its significance is perhaps to grow in understanding.
