From the Executive Director
Dear Pinemere Families,
I can't believe that it is already December, and soon the Pinemere lake will begin to freeze and all of our favorite places in camp will be covered with snow. Pinemere is beautiful in the winter, but it is certainly much more fun when all of you are running around the camp in the summer.
We have been having a very busy December. We have been meeting with prospective new campers, attending camp fairs in many of our communities, and current families have been hosting us in their homes for information sessions. Many of you are getting the word out about how great Pinemere is - we truly appreciate all of your help. As always, if you would like to host a parlor meeting (for even just one new family), we will be happy to come to your home. Please contact us to set that up. We are also traveling to many of our communities for mini-reunions and to give a chance for you to "bring-a-buddy" to these events. We have great gifts for you if you "bring-a-buddy." All of our events are listed below and on our website (and we add new dates and locations all the time). Please put on your Pinemere gear and come out to support Pinemere and to visit with us. We'd love to see you. And, of course, we can't wait to see you all at the reunion on January 8th.
You should see all of the amazing projects going on at camp (check out the pictures)! We will also continue to add new pictures on the website as Keith continues to build. Our CITs of 2012 will have the opportunity to be the first people to see all of the new additions when they come up to camp in early spring for the third annual CIT weekend at camp. Bob Bailey, our Sports Supervisor, has already started planning new sports clinics for 2012 and is expanding our sports program even more. Please continue to send us suggestions for new programs you'd like to see at camp. We greatly appreciate your feedback and ideas.
Ezra, Ann, and Keith join me in wishing you all a Happy Chanukah.
Think Camp!

Keith's Korner | |
Hi everyone!
I am very excited to have my own little corner of the Pinemere newsletter. As you all may know by now, I was hired in February of 2011. Since the first day I started working here, I felt like this is where I belong. Not everyone can say they love their job. But I can! Working at Pinemere has given me the opportunity to show off my talent and improve camp life for all that come here. I am very proud to be a part of the Pinemere organization. After you all left in August, I have been very busy. Along with Lori, we have been able to install new roofing on 7 buildings. We were able to renovate the guest cabin, and paint it. We also started the painting of the health center and office. A new prototype has been constructed in the village to replace aging tent platforms. The dining hall is currently getting a face lift along with the bathrooms. And this was all done in three months! I can't wait for you all to come back and see everything! I will continue to take pictures and have them posted so you can all see the progress. I hope you all have a great holiday, stay safe, and think camp!

Campers in the News | |
Congratulations to Rachel Nahamo, who was honored this past Sunday at the Jewish Relief Agency's Annual Event to End Hunger. Rachel was one of two 2011 recipients of the JRA's Annual Youth Leadership Award, celebrating young volunteers impacting our community. Mazel Tov, Rachel!
Mazel Tov also to Amanda Kaliner for her participation in the "Adopt-a-Class" program for her Bat Mitzvah project. Amanda collected school supplies in her neighborhood and beyond for many weeks, and thanks to her contribution, hundreds of children living in poverty were provided with markers, crayons, pencils, notebooks, and other essential supplies necessary for learning. You can read more here. Keep up the good work, Amanda!
If your child is in the news, please let us know at ezra@pinemere.com so we can include it in an upcoming issue! |

Summer 2012 Registration and Referral Incentives

Summer 2012 registration is well underway and we are out there recruiting new campers, with your help. If you haven't signed up yet for 2012, it is easier than ever: just log in to CampMinder as you did previously to view photos and complete forms, and click on "Camper Application." Select the appropriate session(s), make any changes to your information from last year, click submit, and that's it!

We are also continuing our successful referral incentives program. For each new family you refer to Pinemere Camp that registers, you will receive a $100 check at the end of the summer! Refer 10 new families and your family will receive a free camp tuition! |
|
