Dear Pinemere Alumni,
It is starting to feel like summer up here at Pinemere! The CITs and CIT-TWOs arrived Wednesday, our first session and full season campers arrive on Sunday, camp is looking great, and we are looking forward to an awesome summer. We have over 60 new campers this summer, and can't wait to share Pinemere's enthusiasm and traditions with them.
We are so excited about our new sports program this summer. The upgrades to our sports fields are ready, and we are offering incredible new clinics this summer led by talented coaches and teachers, ranging from basketball, soccer, and lacrosse to golf, horseback riding, and wilderness adventure.
We have many other new physical upgrades around camp this summer as well, and we are excited to show them off. We are hoping to see many of you on Alumni Day this summer; please see below for more details.

New Pinemere Website! |
We are thrilled to share with you that just today we launched a new Pinemere website. The previous, dated website has been replaced with a new, modern Pinemere website that is both appealing and easy to navigate. One of the features on our new website is the Jewish Rock Radio Portable Player, an internet radio station which gives you 24/7 free access to the best of Jewish rock music today. This station features the music of Rick Recht (who has played at Pinemere in the past and is returning this summer), Sheldon Low (who performed at Pinemere in 2009 and 2010), and many others. You will also be able to follow updates from camp this summer, and we will continue to add to the website after camp, including an upgraded alumni portal to stay in touch with camp and reconnect with old friends.  Our 2011 Annual Giving Campaign is underway. Thanks to an anonymous donor and members of the Pinemere Board of Directors, Pinemere is proud to announce that up to $20,000 raised in its annual giving campaign from now through December 31st will be matched dollar for dollar by Pinemere! These funds will be added to the Robert H. Miner Memorial Fund and used for several great purposes, including capital improvements, engaging summer programming, and camper scholarships.
Please join our effort and support your favorite Jewish camp!!! Gifts must be $50 or more to qualify and must be paid prior to December 31, 2011. Help us to maximize this matching grant and raise a total of $20,000, which will be matched dollar for dollar and result in $40,000 of funds for Pinemere Camp!

As a new feature in our Alumni Newsletters we will be sharing updates sent in by our alumni. Please send updates (including photos, if you wish) to alumni@pinemere.com.
Our first update comes from Samantha Borer (nee Brucker). She writes:
 Alison Kaplon, Denise Solomon and I met at Pinemere in 1991. Ali and I were CITs of 95 together, and returned in 2005 for a 10-year reunion. I was the maid of honor in Ali's wedding on October 15, 2010. We both live in Jacksonville, FL down the hall from each other. I moved to Jacksonville for my job in 2003 and Ali moved in 2005. We do everything together, we are not just friends, we are family. At Ali's wedding, I made handouts of the last 20 years, the first few pictures are all from Pinemere and the first one has Denise, Ali, and me at Pinemere in 1991.
Thank you Samantha for sharing - we love hearing stories about how camp friends became lifelong friends!

SPARK/PIONEERS Short-term Programs |
Please share with any friends who may be interested, enrollment for this year's special 3-day "SPARK" program (for children entering 2nd-4th grades) and one-week "PIONEERS" program (for children entering 2nd-6th grades) is open. These programs are designed to "spark" a child's interest in Pinemere by providing an immersive experience at camp for a full weekend or week, allowing children to participate in a real-live camp program with a variety of programs, Jewish learning through Shabbat activities, and a new-found sense of independence and responsibility.
In addition, we have tours of camp at 2 PM on Sundays, July 3, 10, and 31.
