DROP-OFF INSTRUCTIONS

Arrival at camp is a very busy period, but with your cooperation, we will do our best to make it a positive experience for all.

1.       Arrival time is from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.  Our counselors will be putting the finishing touches on their bunks in the morning; therefore, we will only allow families to report to cabins at 10:00 AM. Before that time, we will ask everyone to wait on the Green. All campers will be assigned beds this summer, so there is no need to run to the bunks. If you do arrive early to camp, you may drop your baggage off at the drop-off area, but will be asked to wait in the parking area until we "officially" open.  Please do not arrive before 9:00 AM - we want to be totally ready to meet and greet your family!

2.       Cars will be stopped on Bartonsville Woods Road before reaching camp to be directed to the appropriate drop-off area.  It can get congested on the camp road, so please be patient and listen to instructions Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that Hilltop and Village campers' luggage will be delivered to their bunks before parents/guardians must leave camp. Our staff will be happy to help them with their unpacking. We will be delivering the Row and Line campers' luggage first so that parents/guardians may help them get settled.

3.       Upon arrival into camp, your camper will be instructed to pass through our health check first. The medical staff will be checking each child (and staff member) for lice, as well as be available to answer any of your health related concerns. No one may go to the bunks before this is done. We appreciate your cooperation.

4.       No pets are allowed at Pinemere, nor is food permitted to be brought into camp. There will be no exceptions made.

5.       Families may enter the Health Center beginning at 9:30 AM to speak to our medical staff about any issues and to hand in any outstanding health forms. Our office will also be open at 9:30 AM if you have any "administrative" questions.

6.       Once at the bunks, the goal for families is to help the campers "get settled" and most importantly, to meet the counselor(s). Our counselors will be taking care of helping everyone unpack once the families leave, so please don't feel that you have to do it all yourselves. We ask that families refrain from putting any nails, screws or other hardware into the bunk walls.

7.       By 11:30 AM, all families should have said their goodbyes and be out of the campers' units.  We will be eager to start the day for the campers, so we appreciate your cooperation with this schedule.

8.      In the event of rain, procedures may be adjusted and announced the day of arrival.

MEDICAL FORMS & MEDICATION
Please remember that we will be unable to have a camper stay at camp without completed medical forms and a copy of both sides of his/her health insurance card.  The medical form must be completed, signed and returned as soon as possible.  If your child's appointment is after June 15, please contact our office immediately to let us know when the form will be received.

As a reminder, all campers who will be taking regular doses of medication during the summer must be registered with Kids MedPacks (information can be found on our website in the forms section under the parents section).

"SPARK"
Enrollment for this year's special 3-day "SPARK" program (for children entering 2nd-4th grades in September, 2010) is open, with nearly 20 campers already enrolled.  The program, in its fifth year, is designed to "spark"" a child's interest in Pinemere by providing an immersive experience at camp for a full weekend. From Friday, July 16th to Sunday, July 18th, children will participate in a real-live camp program with a variety of programs, Jewish learning through Shabbat activities, and a new-found sense of independence and responsibility.

There are limited spaces still available, so please consider whether your child (who may have a sibling at camp already) is ready for this amazing experience.  The tuition is $400.00/child. In addition, if your child decides to enroll in Pinemere's second session after attending "SPARK", families will receive a $200.00 credit towards the standard first-time fee ($3730.00). "SPARK" applications can be found on our website.

SESSION CHANGES/"EXTENSIONS"
Many campers will be attending camp for the full season (7 weeks) this summer.  For most, this plan has been made already, but for others, they will go from being a first session camper to the full season after the summer begins.  We strongly encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you would like to speak about the possibilities of extending your child's stay.  The more notice we have, the more thoughtful we will be in advance with his/her bunk placement in respect to others that may be staying.  Please know that campers will often indicate interest to stay after the session starts. In these cases, I will personally contact parents to let them know, and to explore the possibilities for extensions.

Note: Second session information will be sent in a few weeks.
