It's March, spring is just around the corner! The snow will start to melt and soon the sun will be shining bright. Before you know it, it will be time for camp!
This past month we had our first annual CIT Winter Weekend at Pinemere. Fourteen of the twenty-nine 2010 CITs took part in the weekend. The focus was on group bonding, leadership training, and summer brainstorming. The CIT weekend was a huge success! We are so proud of our 2010 CITs and look forward to a great summer working with all of our wonderful CITs. The CIT Winter Weekend is sure to become a new Pinemere tradition!

Day Camp @ Pinemere
|
Introducing Pinemere Day Camp!
Pinemere Day Camp is perfect for young campers! Each week provides campers with the
opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence and socialize with friends. Campers entering Kindergarten through Grade 4 are encouraged to explore, discover and create in a safe,
exciting, Jewish environment on our beautiful 180-acre residential campus.
Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm
Week 1: July 5 - July 9
Week 2: July 12 - July 16
Week 3: July 19 - July 23
Week 4: July 26 - July 30
Week 5: August 2 - August 6
Week 6: August 9 - August 13
Before & After care available. Kosher lunch included daily.
Fee: $200 per session
Further information and application will be available on the Pinemere website within the week.

CIT-TWOs and Families
We want YOU to be part of the
Pinemere family this summer!
For those of you who are unable to participate in a full 7 ½
week CIT-TWO program, we are happy to announce that we have created some
wonderful options for you for this summer. Please take a look at the following
programs and contact Toby immediately for further information.
Option 1 - Traditional CIT-TWO ProgramWednesday, June 23rd - Sunday, August 15th- Approximately 4 weeks in Israel & 3 weeks at Pinemere including college visits
Option 2 - Israel PlusThursday, July 1st - Sunday, August 8th- Approximately 4 weeks in Israel & 1 week at Pinemere including Shabbat at camp
Option 3 - Discover IsraelMonday, July 5th - Tuesday, August 3rd** Final dates to be determined as flights are confirmed- Approximately 4 weeks in Israel
- Plus.....You can invite your non-Pinemere friends
(entering 11th or 12th grade) to experience Option 3
with us!!!

Lehigh Valley Scholarship Opportunities

Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley is now offering needs-based scholarships for Jewish residential camp.
Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley is also offering TEEN scholarships for Jewish summer camp, trips to Israel, and Jewish youth group programs.

Jewish Fun Fact of the Month

Girls Rule! This past weekend, as we were celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim, we were once again introduced to the first feminists:
 Vashti Queen Vashti
of Persia refused to obey her husband who ordered her to reveal
herself in front of other men. Vashti paid the ultimate price.
Esther Queen Esther used her beauty to influence the
king and convince him to support her. Esther was a manipulative woman,
smart and independent. She demonstrated leadership skills and managed
to overturn Haman's sentence against the Jews. Esther is one of seven
women in our Jewish tradition who is called a prophet.

Alyssa is collecting arts & crafts supplies, DVDs, and toys for the pediatric ward playroom at Lehigh Valley Hospital. What a great idea and wonderful mitzvah Alyssa!
