Dear Pinemere Families,
Our registration is going well - we have over 30 CIT applications in already, we are welcoming new campers, last year's staff members are already applying to come back and our retention rate for returning campers has almost reached 80%. We are so happy to see that the excitement for the summer of 2010 is already generating.
Please remember applications received after our second deadline of November 30th will be assessed a late fee of $300. So, get those applications in the mail this week. We don't want you to pay unnecessary late fees. Please contact our office if you have a special consideration you'd like to discuss.
Our big news is that we are welcoming two new full-time professional staff members into our Pinemere family. With great excitement, we welcome our new Director of Operations, Robin Rosenfeld, and our new Assistant Director, Shira Brown. Please read about them below. We now have a complete team, full of wonderful fresh ideas (but don't worry - we will not be changing any of the beloved Pinemere traditions!). Both Robin and Shira will officially begin on November 23rd, but both can be reached at their Pinemere e-mail addresses: robin@pinemere.com and shira@pinemere.com. We know you will give them a warm welcome and will embrace them into the Pinemere family.
We wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving (a bit early). Toby, Ann, Robin and Shira

Introducing Robin and Shira!!!
Robin Rosenfeld, Director of Operations Robin is no stranger to Pinemere Camp. She first stepped foot into camp in 1970, when she started going to Family Camp with her family. After that, she never left! She started as a camper in Bunk A in 1973, finished as a camper in Bunk O in 1980, served as a CIT, CIT-TWO, Row counselor, Hilltop UL and finally as a CIT staff member in 1986. As an adult, she returned to Family Camp with her sister's family.
Upon graduating from college with a degree in child development, business management and communications, Robin continued to use her love for camp and informal education in her career. She served as a Regional Director for BBYO, Program Director and Camp Director for the YM-YMHA of North Jersey, Program Director for the JCC in Rockland, NY and most recently, was the Assistant Director for Operations at Camp JRF (also in the Pocono Mountains). She is very excited to get back to her home at Pinemere!
Shira Brown, Assistant Director Shira has always had a strong connection and passion for
Jewish camping. She spent thirteen summers as a camper and counselor at URJ
Eisner Camp (Massachusetts), and spent one summer as a staff member for a
Taglit-Birthright Israel trip. More
recently, Shira spent her summers as the Program Director at BB Camp (Oregon)
and JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood (Maine).
Prior to perusing a career in Jewish camping, Shira taught fifth-grade
at a public school in Bethesda, Maryland.
Shira is originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She holds an MBA in Social Policy and
Management and an MA in Jewish Professional Leadership from Brandeis
University, as well as a BA in Elementary Education from American University.
Shira is thrilled to be joining the Pinemere team!
