Black Belt Learning Strategies
At American Black Belt Academy a black belt is
awarded to every person who reaches their max
potential in the Martial Arts.
Because the time varies so greatly, people often
wonder what the secret is to rapid progress in martial
arts. Most instructors would tell you that all it
takes is hard training as often as possible. At
American Black Belt Academy we believe that it is not
just how many classes you take, but what you take
from the classes.
Those who progress most rapidly are the ones who
know how to learn most effectively.
In this article we will be discussing one learning
strategy that will help you reach black belt in the least
amount of time possible.

Learn to Teach ......
One of the best ways to test your understanding of a
technique is to try to teach it to someone else.
Although you might be very proficient in the execution
of a technique, if you can't teach it to someone else,
you don't truly understand it........

"10 Ways to Kick the Procrastination
Habit!"
There was a recent survey (by the University of
Chicago) which suggested that those who relish
challenge are more likely to live up to 10 years longer
than those who spend their lives inhibited by timidity.
Trying to realize our ambitions, even if we don't
always meet them, is preferable to not having the
courage or motivation to take the risk. So not making
any resolutions because we fear that we'll break them
is having a defeatist attitude, as we allow
procrastination to become an insidious habit which
stops us from leading more fulfilling lives.

Holiday Leftovers
What Can I Do with Holiday Leftovers? Sandwiches
are a great lunch to take to work when you follow the
American Dietetic Associations' guidelines.
Start with a 100% wholegrain bread, roll or pita.
Choose 2-3 ounces of lean protein like leftover turkey!
Add one slice of low-fat cheese for calcium and
pile on the veggies like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers,
mushrooms, peppers, etc.
Use a spread that adds flavor, but not fat and calories,
such as mustard and low-fat dressings.
