Black Belt Learning Strategies
At American Black Belt Academy a black belt is
awarded to every person who reaches their max
potential in the Martial Arts.
Because the time varies so greatly, people often
wonder what the secret is to rapid progress in martial
arts. Most instructors would tell you that all it
takes is hard training as often as possible. At
American Black Belt Academy we believe that it is not
just how many classes you take, but what you take
from the classes.
Those who progress most rapidly are the ones who
know how to learn most effectively.
In this article we will be discussing one learning
strategy that will help you reach black belt in the least
amount of time possible.

Focus
- To concentrate your efforts or attention on one
thing.
Example: I must focus all of my attention on the board
when I attempt to break it.
When you focus on what you are doing instead of
letting other things distract you, you are able to finish
your tasks quickly and efficiently.
No one wants to spend hours doing homework, but if
you allow phone
calls, television, friends or games to distract you, it will
take hours to do
30-minutes of math. You will still have done 30-
minutes of math, but you
also spent two hours being distracted. Go ahead and
finish your math.
Then you will have two hours to have fun without
thinking about having
to go back to do your math.
You are able to focus better when you know what
distracts you.

Now for the first time our amazing women's self
defense program that is normally taught as
workshops, seminars, and special short term
courses

October promises to be a very busy month so we'd
like to make sure everyone remembers that we will be
holding our next belt exams during the first full week
in November.
Belt Exams will continue to be conducted on the split
schedule;
Children: Lil Dragons & Goshin Juniors will test on
Friday 7 NOVEMBER 2008
Adult Martial Arts & Jiu Jitsu will test on Saturday
8 NOVEMBER 2008
