Communicatign with colleagues

This image shows a Bluebird page that:

  • Records a note about a patient
  • Sends that note to any doctor registered with the HPCSA.

Bluebird 2011 has the ability to effortlessly construct referral and consultation notes and send that confidential note to a colleague. Bluebird notifies the recipient/s (by SMS and email) that the consult is ready and how to read it.

Although constructing these notes is very easy, some referring doctors might choose to hand their referral note to a receptionist and have her use Bluebird to send it. The consultant will be notified by email and SMS regarding your referral. The patient can also take a paper copy.

Bluebird incorporates a sophisticated word processor. The templates are intentionally simple (so as not to intimidate) but can be ratcheted up to include more detail. This tool is expandible across all specialties with customised templates and pop up lists. Simply send us the forms you find useful and we will include in future versions of Bluebird.

The next email will show you how to send documents created in MS Word to any colleague registered with the HPCSA. This is particularly useful for dictated consultations.

Remember that Bluebird consolidates all your incoming reports ( labs, radiology, referrals and consultations) in 1 place !

These features are part of Bluebird's most important software release in a decade. Other benefits of the latest Bluebird (code named iBird) include:
  • Effortless communication between colleagues
  • Effortless communication with patients
  • Pathology trending across labs (real time graphs)
  • Integrated radiology
  • Bluebird's secure vault (secure storage for your clinical documents)
  • Platform specific applications for Windows, Apple, iPhone and iPod
  • The Bluebird Black Box, a managed server appliance designed for  premium clients (those that use the Bluebird practice management and EMR). The BBBB takes the hassle out of practice IT.

I trust these tools will assist you in providing optimal care for your patients.

Sincerely,
