A Report on Kairos Prison Ministry Weekend
by Georgia Small

Thank you so much for the prayers, cookies, money, and babysitting that you provided on my behalf to make this weekend possible. In case you have the time and the interest, I have created a recap of the weekend to share with you. I am also attaching a picture of the team with the residents that attended the weekend- it is taken in front of The Woman at the Well Chapel at Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women.

Shipley Supper
Friday, May 6 at 6 PM

You are invited to a potluck supper at the Shipley's home this Friday, May 6 at 6 PM. These casual suppers are a great way for the River family to get to know each other a little better. Whether you have been a River for years or days, you're invited to attend. Please email Chris Shipley (wacoshipley@hotmail.com) if you haven't signed already up to let her know you're coming and what you're bringing. Repeat customers are welcome!

RCC Softball Team

Not sure why this hasn't made national news, but the first game for the RCC Softball Team is this Friday, May 6! All games will be played at Istouma Baptist on Field 1. They'll be playing at 7 PM this Friday if you want to cheer them on to certain victory. Their next game is Monday, May 9, also at 7 PM.
Senior Recognition May 8

We will honor our graduating seniors during both worship services this Sunday, May 8 (Mother's Day), and we don't want to leave anyone out. Please contact Casey if you have a graduating senior in your family: 225-937-7396 or casey@rivercommunity.org.
Directory Pictures May 15 & 22

Bev Chaussy will take pictures for our online church directory on May 15 & 22. Bev will be set up in the conference room and will take photos on a first come, first serve basis.

Do you already have a recent family photo? Please send it to Dana so it can be added to the online directory: dana@rivercommunity.org.

Creativity Group at River

The Creativity Group will meet at church on Wednesday, May 18 from 12:30 - 2:30 PM. Bring your current project or come and learn something new from others.

Many thanks to the Creativity Group for the wonderful art displays we have been enjoying in the gathering area. It is wonderful to look around the room and be reminded of our amazingly creative God.
