River Sister's Night
Georgia Small, our River Sister's Night coordinator, is busy for the next few weeks with prison ministry so we don't have anything planned for April. We won't plan anything for May as it is typically a busy month for all. Look for news on summer gatherings in June. Contact Georgia if you have some ideas: (225) 439-8420 or georgiasante@cox.net.

Easter at River
Maundy Thursday Celebration, April 21
Passover Seder and Potluck Dinner, 6:30 PM
Seder is the traditional Passover Week Dinner celebrated by the Hebrews since the Exodus. It is the Hebrew Thanksgiving, giving thanks to God for deliverance and redemption. Seder, as the setting for Jesus' Last Supper, was the event Jesus chose to announce The New Covenant. And it was at this Seder that Jesus asked all of us to do this in remembrance of Him.
The Messianic Seder that we celebrate together on Maundy Thursday will give us a small taste of the Hebrew Passover. And by small taste, we literally mean a small taste: hence the Potluck dinner. It will be a meaningful and enjoyable experience for the whole family.
Please let us know you're coming! Sign up in the gathering area on Sunday morning or email Dana (dana@rivercommunity.org).
Good Friday Service, April 22
7:00 PM
The purpose of this service of worship is to reflect deeply on the sufferings and death of Christ. Good Friday is called 'good' because of what Jesus' death means for our redemption. At this service, we will enter humbly, worship deeply, and leave quietly with our hearts centered on the suffering of Christ for us and for our salvation.
Easter Sunday, April 24
9:00 and 10:45 AM
A joyful celebration of Christ's resurrection! Please bring flowers from home to decorate the Easter cross.
