Connecting in Christ... a Women's Summer Event
Sunday, June 27 at 6:30 PM

Ladies, join us for dessert at Sue Miley's home next Sunday at 6:30 PM. We're going to have a lot of fun together as we explore who the RCC Woman is and what meaningful ministry looks like to her. We're sure to have a great discussion as we discover who we are as a group and what the Bible has to say about women ministering to women.

Childcare is available, but registration is required.
"How to Study the Bible for All It's Worth"
 a note from Don Shipley

In our study of 2 Timothy, we have learned the importance of knowing the Bible, being Bible-based and Scripture-saturated, so I thought it would be a good idea to study how to study the Bible!  This 4 week course on Wednesday evenings in July is directed to those who want to study the Bible but don't really know where to start.  We'll talk about tools to help you study the Bible, the different literary genres, and some basic interpretive skills so that you can begin to understand what the Bible actually means.  While the course is directed to those who are new to studying the Bible, this will also serve as a "refresher" course for those who have studied the Bible for years.  All are welcome. Childcare is available, but registration is required.

Denominational Meeting Next Week in Colorado

The General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (the national gathering of our denomination) meets June 23-26 at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church in Englewood, Colorado. More than 800 people will attend. Wednesday's workshop, God's People for God's Mission, will feature Reggie McNeal, a national missional author and leader. Thursday through Saturday are filled with worship, connecting with brothers and sisters from across the US and the world, commissioning missionaries, hearing reports of how God's mission is played out in our sister churches, conducting business, and setting directions for the denomination.

More information is available at www.EPC.org. New this year - you can keep up with the General Assembly if you are unable to attend. Updates and news will be available several times a day on the EPC Community blog (EPC.SocialGo.com), Twitter (follow @EPChurch and look for the #30GA hash tag) or join the discussions on Facebook. Podcasts will be posted throughout the week.

Pray that God will be glorified in worship and His will be known in all the decisions made.
Creativity Group Meeting This Summer

The painting/drawing group would like to expand to a "creativity group", welcoming all forms of original art, not just painting. We welcome those who are doing beading, needlework, sculptures, collage, carving, etc., etc. We will meet at the church every other Wednesday from 9:30 am - 11:30 am: June 23; July 7, 21; August 4, 18. Teenagers, we invite you to join us during the summer months as well.

Participants bring their own supplies. You may come to any number of sessions.  Please note: this group will still be a creating group, helping each other, but not promising formal art instruction.
Volunteer Ascension 2010 Uniform Program

We're teaming with Volunteer Ascension to collect school uniforms and school supplies this summer. Drop off new or clean, repaired, used uniforms in the collection box in the gathering area. Our K-5th graders will be bringing in school supplies in June and July. Volunteer Ascension is also looking for volunteers to help with collection of school supplies on July 31 and packing supplies on August 17. This is a great opportunity to join our community in helping others. Please sign up in the gathering area.
Christian Creeds and Reformed Confessions...
There's an app for that!

The free Christian Creeds and Reformed Confessions app provides a searchable library of the most universally used Christian creeds and the principal theological standards of the Continental Reformed and English Presbyterian churches.

The free Westminster Shorter Catechism app contains all 107 questions and answers, Scripture proofs, and a feature to hide the answer to aid in memorization.

Two great tools as we seek to be people who think rightly about God.
