Our guest artist for the evening is black-and-white photographer and Louisiana native Dede Lusk (who is the mother of Andrea Bransford, the missionary family River supports in Thailand!).  Whether cruising the bayous and marshes of her south Louisiana home or scrambling among the rocks on a mountain peak in Montana, Dede seeks to capture the simple yet profound elements of nature that bring peace to the spirit.  Her minimalist images, against a canvas of snow, fog, sky, and water, evoke the rhythms and patterns of life, inviting the viewer to share a moment of intimate connection with creation and to know a place in a new and deeper way.  Her work has shown in galleries and competitions from Louisiana to California to Thailand.

A couple of months ago, Don spent a few minutes at the beginning of his sermon talking about why it is important to bring your children to worship. Did you miss that sermon? No problem - listen to it by clicking here. Did you hear it, but still don't know how you would pull it off? Also, no problem! Just come to our Family Worship Workshop and you'll be off to a great start.

 

The workshop will be an action-filled afternoon of teaching and fun activities to build up the whole family!  Topics covered will include:  "What is worship?", "Who is God?", "What do we do in worship?", "What is communion?"  There will be engaging teaching for the whole family as well as times when the children break to do activities and the parents and adults receive more in-depth teaching.
