| Its' Official - We Have a New Pastor!
We are so thankful to the Pastor Nominating Committee (Ronnie Sutton, Camron Azadan, John Crane, Candice Gray, Mark Lawson, Anna Paxton, Charlie Perdue, Kellie Sirk, and Rhonda Whittington) for their year of hard work to discern whom God is calling to be the next pastor of River. We praise God that the congregation voted this past Sunday to approve the recommendation of the committee and Rev. Don Shipley has accepted the call. What an exciting time! Please keep the Shipleys in your prayers as they transition from Alexandria to Prairieville. Don will preach his first sermon at River on 01/10/10. |

Prayers for Ian
Please remember to pray for Ian as he continues his mission trip in India and Nepal. The ongoing unrest in the country is making it difficult for Ian and John to complete the work they hoped to accomplish. Please pray that their time would be fruitful and that God would continue to protect them from illness and harm.

Reach Out this Christmas
Gardere Christmas, December 11th -13th If you have ever found yourself at Christmas time wanting to reach out to folks in need but not being sure how, this is a great opportunity to do it. Three African American Churches are working along with El Aposento Alto and believers from other churches to serve Gardere residents with this outreach. They need help setting up tents and lights, building sets, preparing costumes, serving Gumbo, and eating Gumbo and talking with those who receive Christ.
