Winter Worship Concert Series

Ordinary Time performs on December 6 at 7 PM

Come enjoy the harmonies and acoustic folk sound of Ordinary Time, a band formed in Vancouver, Canada. The trio (which includes our own Jill McFadden) will play a Christmas concert at River on Sunday, Dec 6 at 7 PM.  Set aside an hour or so during the business of the holiday season to refocus and relax, enjoy good music, and worship the One who came as light into the darkness.

Manna Project
Reaching out to the hungry and to the homeless

At the Thanksgiving Feast we will pack bags that we can have available in our cars to hand out as we come across someone in need. The bags will contain food and scripture to sustain body and soul.

If you would like to help supply the contents of these bags, please choose from the following list and bring the items to church on Sunday morning, November 22.

Individual serving size packages of:
  • Vienna sausages
  • Canned fruit (easy open tops only, please)
  • Nuts
  • Peanut butter crackers

Thanksgiving Feast
Sunday, November 22 at 3 PM

The Thanksgiving Feast - more than a feast, it's also a day of faith and family fun. At 3 PM we'll have fry daddy's frying, families playing field games, and folks inside packing Manna Project bags. Next, we'll all gather for the feast which will be followed by our pie eating contest. The day will be capped off with a worship service of praise and thanksgiving to our Great God and King.

Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving side dish or dessert to serve 12 according to last name: A-Q - side dish; R-Z - dessert.

We will have special guests at the feast this year - seven of them! Don and Christine Shipley and their 5 children will join us for the Thanksgiving Feast. Don is the Pastor Search Committee's nomination for senior pastor.
Christmas Poinsettias
Honor/Remember a Loved One

Each year we decorate our church with poinsettias that have been purchased by our congregation to honor or remember someone special in their lives. To order a poinsettia, please fill out one of the red poinsettia forms found on the Event Registration table this Sunday and place it in the Offering basket. Orders must be received by Sunday, December 6. You may pick up your poinsettia(s) after the Christmas Eve service.
