Paulus Orchards
Greetings!

I guess I should be thankful for the rain.  We all need water to survive.  But gee, I really wish it wouldn't have been over the weekend!  I'm so sorry to all of the people that had activities booked over these rainy days!

Unfortunately, we have made the decision to close the flashlight maze for tonight and there is a strong possibility that it will be closed tomorrow as well.  Even if the rain lightens up, the paths are very slick.  Feel free to call for more information, 432-2544.

But, come and visit the farm stand!  It will be open normal hours and we have LOTS of yummy baked goods - breads, pies, cookies, whoopie pies, and cider donuts over the weekend!  Plus we have 3 new varieties of apples in the stand...see below...
U-Pick and Corn Maze
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
U-Pick Apples for this weekend will be Red Delicious, Stayman, and Fuji (if the weather gets better).  Please call ahead (432-2544) to make sure the u-pick is open if the weather seems questionable.
The Corn Maze is closed Friday night and most likely closed on Saturday.  I'll try to keep the web page updated with changes as we go through the weekend.
U-Pick Pumpkins will be open every Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday from 11-5 through November 1st. May be closed on Saturday due to rain - please call ahead.
In the Stand...
Empire, Mutsu, and Fuji apples are new this week.  (We had an early variety of Fuji that ended and now we have the rest of the Fuji.)  There are thirteen different kinds of apples in the stand for you to choose from.
Apple Cider donuts are available on Saturdays and Sundays as well as delicious baked goods.
Stop by the farm for your fall decorating needs.  We have Indian Corn, Gourds, Pumpkins, Straw Bales, and Corn Shocks.
Recipe of the Week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week's recipe is for Apple Custard Pie.

Every now and then I am asked how to print just one recipe.  If you have a word processing program (like microsoft word) you can highlight the recipe you want, click "edit" and then "copy" and then paste it into your word processing program and print it from there.  I plan on organizing the recipes more over the winter and having a separate page for each category.  Unfortunately I won't have the time to do that until sometime after Christmas!  So hopefully the cut and paste idea will work for you!  :)
Have a Great Week!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
