Paulus Orchards
Greetings!

Now that it's October I love to eat soup.  Lucy, who works for us on weekdays, brought in some delicious soup for all of us this week.  You'll find her recipe at the end of the newsletter.  Send us your favorite soup recipes!  We'll share them with everyone.

Tonight is the second flashlight maze of the season.  It went well last Friday; it's definitely harder than doing it in the day!  The flashlight maze will continue every Friday evening this month.  You may enter the maze anytime between 6:30 and 8:30.  The entrance closes at 8:30.

To enter the maze tonight you must have a flashlight.  If you forget, there will be some for sale.  Maze admission is $7 for all ages.

The stand, maze, and u-pick areas will be open for three days this weekend.  Saturday is 9-5, Sunday is 11-5 and Monday, which is Columbus Day, is 9-5.  We will be closing the stand at 5 pm on Monday, which is earlier than usual.

You must be a PA resident to enter, and you may only enter one pie.

***We now have copies of the Dill Pickle at the stand (Your guide to the fair).***
U-Pick and Corn Maze

U-Pick Pumpkins will be open every Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday from 11-5 through November 1st.

U-Pick Apples for this weekend will be Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, and Stayman.  Hours are Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 11-5.   Golden and Red Delicious are sweet apples, and Stayman is moderately tart.

The Corn Maze is also open this weekend.  It's "bee" themed and you'll find little bits of bee trivia throughout the maze.

Flashlight mazes will be every Friday evening in October starting tonight.  Everyone must have a flashlight to enter.  Admission for the flashlight maze will begin at 6:30.  Last entrance will be at 8:30.

Recipe of the Week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week's recipe is for stuffed pepper soup.  It comes from Lucy Micsky, who works in the farmstand on weekdays.  She made the tomato puree from fresh tomatoes using a saucemaster and used fresh green peppers and onions from the stand.  It was very good!
Have a Great Week!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
