Greetings!

What a beautiful week it's been (minus a few thunderstorms!).  But when the sun was out, it was perfect weather.  I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July celebration with family and friends.  I'm looking forward to taking the kids to see fireworks tonight, possibly visit the drive-in tomorrow, and spend time with family on Sunday.  What a perfect weekend.

There's not many places around that still have a drive in - I LOVE it.  Everyone brings along quite a picnic, some people even bring the grill!  This is a great time of year for picnics - lots of healthy fruits and vegetables to choose from.  Maybe we should all get together and plan a big feast!  :)  If you see me there say hello!
In the Stand
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fresh Red and Black Raspberries, Sweet Cherries, Blueberries, Cantaloupe, Watermelon...the makings of a yummy fruit salad!
White and Bi-Color Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Cucumbers...fire up the grill and invite the neighbors over.
The newest addition: Transparent and Lodi Apples.  These apples make the best apple sauce.  My mother-in-law uses these and everyone in the family always wants more.  You can find a recipe for applesauce under "Apple Recipes."  It's number 7.
Recipe of the Week
Here are two this week...
Since this is cherry season, I added Cherry Pie.
Since it is the Fourth of July weekend, I added a fun recipe for Red, White and Blueberry Squares
If you are going to a picnic, there are a lot of great recipes on our web site.  One of my favorites is Berry Pie.  Go to the recipe page and you'll find it at the bottom of the "Berry" list.  You can use ANY berries, but I think my favorite is raspberries.
U-Pick Blueberries
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
U-Pick blueberries has started and will continue through the end of July.  You can come on any Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday to pick.  The hours are 9 am to 1 pm.  Come to the shed to pick up a picking bucket and then have lots of fun picking.  It's an inexpensive way to have lots of fun with the kids or grandkids!

It is open tomorrow so you can come and get fresh blueberries and make a delicious treat to take to a Fourth of July Picnic.  On the recipe page you can find a number of delicious recipes for blueberries: Berry Pie, Blueberry Coffeecake, Blueberry Cobbler, Blue Heaven, Fruit Pizza, and Red, White and Blueberry Squares.

If you have a favorite blueberry recipe, send it to me and I'll share it with everyone!
Have a Great Week!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
