Paulus Orchards
Greetings!

Happy 4th of July!  I hope you are having a great Independence Day despite the weather.

Just a quick reminder that you can pick blueberries again tomorrow starting at 9 am.  The first u-pick day went very well.  Amy tells me everyone was having fun.  It was perfect weather and there were lots of berries until late morning.  My guess is that tomorrow will be the same.  I will be there tomorrow.  Arriving closer to 9 is better than late morning.

Twice a week seems to be a good amount of time between pickings, the berries are ripening nicely.  And Tuesdays and Saturdays at 9 am seem to work well.  So if you can't make it tomorrow, you can come on the 8th or 12th.

If you need directions click here.  When you get to the farm, enter the parking lot and then turn left and follow the lane through the gate into the orchard.  Continue on the lane until you reach the blueberry patch.   You may use our boxes or bring your own containers.  Please see us to have your containers weighed prior to picking so we can subtract that weight from your total weight.  The cost is $2/pound.
Berry Pie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a recipe for Berry Pie.  I included it last year for raspberries and blackberries, but you can use it for any berry.  It is one of my favorite desserts.  The recipe comes from my mom - it's a recipe worth handing down.  Delicious!
Next week I'll give you the recipe for Dan's grandmother's blueberry coffeecake.  She made it almost everytime we visited because she knew how much we loved it.  Aren't grandmother's the best?  You can have it for breakfast or use it as an evening dessert.  Great served warm with vanilla ice cream!  So make sure you're watching for next week's newsletter - you won't want to miss "Nan's blueberry coffeecake."
Wishing you a Great Week!
