BOO-BOOS CONTINUE
-- "S/he"?
-- NO PROBLEM
-- ELITE AND DEBT
Back from a Thanksgiving weekend, I thought I would catch up on those weeks where I allowed far too many boo-boos to go without a poo-poo. |
|
"S/he"? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A buzz term now in Internet marketing is content strategy. So get with it.Lowes in Mooresville, NC is looking for a director of content strategy. According to the announcement, "S/he is versed in user centered design methodologies and has experience with user testing, research, heuristic evaluation, content matrix creation, content architecture, human computer interaction and brand strategy." Well, I don't have any recommendations. But I do wonder where in the world "S/he" came from. It's bad enough to use she/he, but Lowes is minimizing to the extreme.

NO PROBLEM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No sooner than I thanked my assistant for not causing her any extra trouble with my question, my physician called. He too used the same phrase when I thanked him for setting up an appointment."No problem." Huh? Look guy and girl, I was only thanking you. Where in the world did "no problem" come from? What does it mean, that I didn't cause you a problem by thanking you?
Just this morning I asked the operator at New York's Belvedere Hotel how to use express checkout.

ELITE AND DEBT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the haggling in Congress over a tax bill, two terms get butchered with mispronunciation."Debt" should be pronounced like "dett," with no pronunciation of the "b." And "elite" still has a French pronunciation: "ay-leet" rather than "e-light."
Yours sincerely,
