Looking ahead to the future

It's been a while since our last issue, and I'll admit to being bummed out that we didn't hit our goals to buy this house. But, with my batteries recharged and a new year ahead, it's time to look ahead to the future of our Brotherhood.
A new Chapter House/Chapter Fund. We're not buying a House now, but in the next few years we're going to have another opportunity to do so. When that happens, we need to be ready. While we scrambled this Fall and got about $25,000 pledged very quickly, it took a lot of work and left a lot of uncertainty whether we would hit the ultimate goal of $100,000.
Going forward, we want to skip the pledges and focus on tax-deductible donations to our Chapter Fund which will build a warchest for a future house. Our first goal will be to raise $10,000 by Founder's Day 2009. I know it's a bad economy and we've all tightened our belts, but I hope each of you can dig deep and, if possible, make a small contribution towards this goal!
Together, we can make a difference, support the growth of an outstanding Chapter, and be ready to seize the opportunity to buy a new house when it comes. I hope you will all join me in this effort with your own tax-deductible donation of $100 (more if you can, less if you can't), or a monthly auto-debit of as little as $10/month.
Nominations for Active & Elder Brothers of the year! We are taking nominations for the annual Stephen A Ruggles Undergraduate Leadership Award and William 'Kip' Fenton Elder Service Award, to be presented at Founder's Day. To make a nomination, please email Awards Committee Chairman Fabio Pari-di-Monriva at XXX with the name of your nominee, and the reasons why you think the are worthy of recognition.
Join our Elder Board. Elections will be held on Founder's Day and now that we've laid a stable foundation, we new leaders to guide our Brotherhood into the future. The nominations committee (of all past Elder Phi's) is seeking volunteers to serve on the Elder Board. If you are interested, please email me for information/responsibilities of each Officer & Board Member to see what best suits your interests.

Meet our new Active Phi!

My name is Jeremy Dodge, Brother Pi Delta. I am from North Reading, MA and have lived there my whole life. I am currently an "almost junior" sophomore studying Economics. I rushed with the pledge class of Spring 07 and haven't regretted a day since. I have held the positions of Delta, Assistant Pledgetrainer, and Pledgetrainer before this semester when I was elected to Phi. During my time with Zeta Psi I have seen a lot. I have seen a lot of high points as well as many low points as many of you know. Even so I have seen what we can do when we all go towards a common goal. Whether it be going from 6 active brothers to 16 based out of Puffton, to actually getting some semblance of a chapter house again. It is my goal to bring Zeta Psi back to its former glory on the UMASS campus, and I believe that we have the brothers that actually care enough that allow us to accomplish this goal. I look forward to hearing any ideas you may have as well as hopefully seeing everyone at Founder's Day this year. | |
