Active Chapter Strategic Plan
 
Working with the Actives, we've nearly finished identifying a 5-semester strategic plan that will help drive major results within our active chapter!  More details will be coming out soon, but the plan will outline the goals and policies to hel this chapter become the premiere Fraternity at Umass, with a goal of 3.0 or better GPA, 45 Brothers, active campus participation, and #1 for philanthropy, leadership, and FUN at UMASS!  STAY TUNED FOR MORE!
Meet the Pledges!

pledge lucianLucian Besmer- A sophomore from Needham MA. He is a poli-sci major. He is very hard working and attained a 3.8 GPA last semester. Lucian is also one of my good friends who I had been trying to recruit for a long time, he is a great guy and I know he will do much for us. Lucian also plans on joining the SGA.

Connor Epstein Kraus- a sophomore from Cambridge MA. He is Lucian's roommate. He is a psychology major with an interest in law enforcement later in his life.  Connor is also on the rugby team here at UMASS.

Spencer Ross- besides having a great last name, Spencer is a sophomore from Needham MA.  Right now he is undeclared but a very bright student. He went to high school with Lucian and works hard.

Steve Ferro- Steve is a freshman from Cheshire MA. He graduate high school with a 3.4 GPA and he is also in the flag football club. Steve also works out with Connor, Lucian and I.

 

 

pledge Kaplan

Dave Kaplan- Dave is sophomore from Needham MA. He is Spencer's roommate. Dave had above a 3.0 GPA last semester and he is not in any clubs as of now. He is very excited about pledging and I expect to see a lot out of him, especially now that he shaved that beard!
Elder Board Update
Old phi picWorking together as a team, we can achieve tremendous results that we could never achieve otherwise!
 

We continue to grow.  by recruiting more board members and commitee men, we've reduced the workload of each, and continue to keep the Alumni board moving forward!  By the end of the year, we hope to fill out all officer & board positions (EMAIL US if you want to be involved!).  Our goal is to lay the foundation and plans for Founders Day so the next Board can continue to oversee the active chapter and guide their growth!

 
HOMECOMING. 
The actives have committed to a major Philanthropic event in New York City on Saturday, 10/20 - our Homecoming - so they won't be on campus - but their commitment to being UMASS's #1 Fraternityin Philanthropy is amazing and we fully support their efforts.  Since many Board members can't attend this year anyway, there will NOT be any organized meeting or activity for homecoming - we're saving it for further along when we and they have achieved even more great results.
 
INITIATION WEEKEND.  For those who can attend this DRY event, the actives will be initiating on Friday, 10/26 at WPI.  The next day, they'll be hosting a BBQ on campus for any alumni who want to come up and meet our newest brothers!
 
ONGOING RECRUITMENT.  Once our first class is initiated, the actives will run a SECOND pledge calss this fall - helping them achieve their signature goal of reaching 20+ Brothers by the end of the semester!
