The Goal
Over the past few months, a committee of local elders (including recent grads and Washington Scholars Alumni) and Maryland and Virginia Tech Actives have been making plans to expand Zeta Psi to these four local campuses - AU, GMU, GW, & Georgetown. Our ultimate goal is to see the start of four new chapters in the coming years. In the immediate, we'd hope to see at least 2 interest groups form so we can begin developing them this Fall. |

The Plan
The first step was identifying potential 'studs' to build a group around, and we've done that with The Washington Region Scholarship Program - offered to new students at each campus. Based on a similar and highly successful program at our Nebraska Wesleyan / Omicron chapter (30 pledges last year!), we used the information gathered to identify the right kind of men to lead the effort.
The next step is this coming Monday, when the 20 best applicants will be interviewed by phone. The interviews will include Alumni and current Acives at Maryland or V-Tech who can then use this as a means to build personal relationships with each potential.
Then, on August 25th, we'll be holding the Steak & Crab Fest at Maryland's Chapter house, inviting all the applicants, and announcing the winners and giving out the Scholarships.
From there, with some initial candidates and other avenues, we hope to build interest groups of the right kind of men at each campus, and from there begin growing these new chapters! |
