Greetings!
Here at American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School, we are busy preparing for The Company's 2012-2013 Season and for Back-to-School at Princeton Ballet School. Thanks to the help of our wonderful supporters and funders, we were able to close the books on another successful fiscal year last month so we can continue to bring you more great programs in the coming season.
Cameron Auble-Branigan

American Repertory Ballet welcomes new dancer Cameron Auble-Branigan to the company this fall.  A Philadelphia native, Cameron received his pre-professional training at the San Francisco Ballet School, Jacob's Pillow, Juilliard, The Rock School, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Barbara Sandonato School of Ballet, and Metropolitan Ballet Academy. He has performed in numerous ballets, including George Balanchine's Valse Fantaisie, August Bournonville's Flower Festival in Genzano, Helgi Tomasson's The Nutcracker, Michael Corder's April England, and Marius Petipa's Bluebird pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty

Additionally, Shaye Firer was promoted from Apprentice to full company member and Trainee Kelsey McFalls was promoted to an Apprentice. Read more about these promotions HERE.

The School's Summer Intensive, Summer Intensive Intermediates, and Summer Intensive Juniors programs just finished on July 27, and we were thrilled with the artistic growth we saw in all our students. We're gearing up for fall, but you can stay in shape these next couple of weeks with our Advanced August Open Enrollment classes. Don't miss the sidebar on our new CardioBarre class, and read about our renovations and Grand Re-Opening at our Cranbury facility HERE.

The Access & Enrichment Department is getting ready for "Meet the Company", the first On Pointe Enrichment Series event of the year!  It will be held on September 14 at 5:15pm at Princeton Ballet School.  As always, this On Pointe is free and open to the public.  ARB will also be performing in a number of free community events across Central Jersey this September - check out the sidebar for more information.

Please read on for much, much more...

Students in the Summer Intensive Intermediates
program had a great time at our Cranbury location with faculty members Katie Scibienski and Erika Mero.  They learned variations from
GiselleSwan Lake, Les SylphidesThe Sleeping Beauty, and Don Quixote.  Alongside their dancing, they learned some Romantic ballet hair styles, crafted beautiful headpieces, brushed up on nutrition and ballet etiquette, and watched Children of Theatre

Street, a documentary about life at the Kirov School in Russia. "We had full, energetic classes all five weeks!" says Ms.  Scibienski.  "The dancers made new friends and improved immensely."

The Summer Intensive Juniors program met daily in a studio on Princeton University's campus.  Led by Princeton Ballet School faculty member Jennifer Gladney, these young dancers made headpieces and learned variations from such classical ballets as Firebird and The Sleeping Beauty in addition to daily ballet classes.  Read more about the program straight from Ms. Gladney HERE.

New Class Spotlight: CardioBarre
Princeton Ballet School is excited to offer a new Exercise and Movement Class this year:
Ballet barre lengthens and strengthens leg muscles, tones and sculpts the arm musculature, and promotes a strong core and beautiful posture.

In this new 45-minute class, designed specifically for the non-dancer but extremely beneficial for dancers, too, the pace of basic barre exercises is increased to provide a more aerobic workout, and abdominal exercises are performed to keep that all-important area toned.

CardioBarre classes are led by the vivacious Princeton Ballet School instructors Erika Mero and Katie Scibienski.
