American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School finished off the summer with a whirlwind of activity.  We have a lot of exciting news to share as we begin the fall season:

, the company will return to Raritan Valley Community College Theater; March 12th the organization will host the annual Gala  at Patriots Theater at the War Memorial; and the company will premier a revival of Twyla Tharp's "Eight Jelly Rolls" May 21st and 22nd at Rutgers University's New Theater.  Other spring repertory will include Philip Jerry's Our Town, Raymonda, and new works by Patrick Corbin and Company Director Douglas Martin.

Princeton Ballet School will open a new studio in the Princeton Shopping Center this fall.  The 3000 square foot "pop-up" studio, located on the east side of the shopping center between Camillo's Café and Ace Hardware, will allow the School to offer more classes and special programs, including the Junior Division of the pre-professional company and the Trainee Program. Princeton Ballet School Students will be performing this weekend:

On September 11, 2010
members of ARBW and ARBW Jr. will be performing excerpts from Giselle, new choreography by Douglas Martin and Mary Barton for The Nutcracker and Moog Suite by Sherry Alban at Cranbury Day on Main Street.  Performances start at 2pm followed by a sample class at our Cranbury Studio. Cranbury Day Festivities are ongoing from 10am-4pm on Main Street.
ARB Education and Outreach Activities
ARB welcomes new Education and Outreach Director David Wes Sadowsky and new DANCE POWER Coordinator, Kathleen Smith!

Previously, David was Director of Administration for Elisa Monte Dance and Artistic Director of David Wes Dance where he was called "Must See Dance" by the Boston Metro. Mr. Sadowsky serves on numerous Boards and Committees in the industry including the Emerging Leader Task Force of Dance/USA.

Kathleen Smith is a PBS alum, a Princeton Ballet School Faculty member and a longtime DANCE POWER teaching artist.  She is getting DANCE POWER geared up for its 26th Season in the New Brunswick public school district!


Save the Date
ARB is proud to announce a new "On Pointe" program this year. 

"On Pointe" will feature lectures, panel discussions and other events where the community can interact with ARB company members, faculty and staff. 

"On Pointe" will kick off with a, Meet the 2010-2011 ARB Company event Friday October 1, 2010 at 4pm at the Princeton Ballet School's Studios.  So, save the date and watch for more from our "On Pointe" series.
