Dear CTKers,
Are you thinking small? At worship centers across the USA and around the world, fall is a great time to "think small" and seek a group of people to meet with regularly in Jesus' name. Many churches require lengthy training before entrusting a person with leadership of a small group. At CTK, we strive to help people get involved in leading or participating in groups wherever and however they can. We believe that Jesus command in John 13 to "love one another" can only take place when we actually spend time getting to know one another - which happens most naturally in a small group. If you've never experienced a CTK Small Group, or it has been a while since you were in a group, I encourage you to contact your local CTK pastor to find out more about starting or joining a group.

Two Skagit Valley (WA) events set to fight human trafficking

Mary Bron, of CTK Mount Vernon (WA), feels a passion to fight the evil of human trafficking, which enslaves vulnerable women and children around the world in sexual abuse and child labor. But how is an "ordinary mom" supposed to fight such a big problem? By putting together two fundraising events and partnering with a world-renowned organization, that's how! On Saturday, September 17, the ministry Mary founded ("Free At Last Ministries") will be hosting two events aimed at raising funds to send to the International Justice Mission for their work in fighting human trafficking around the globe. The first event will be the "Tee It Up To Drive Out Human Trafficking" golf tournament at Avalon Links in Burlington, WA. Registration is $125 for a single golfer or $400 for a team of 4. Those who are not golfers are encouraged to attend a Dessert Banquet at 7:00pm on the 17th at CTK Mount Vernon. The dessert will feature IJM founder and president Gary Haugen, who has been featured on numerous national TV shows for his work fighting human trafficking. The cost of the dessert banquet is $15 per person (pre paid) or $20 at the door. For more information about these events including online registration, go to the Free At Last website.

CTK Small Groups starting in Brazil At the CTK Net work Resources office, you never know what a day may hold. In early August, director Don Jaques received an email from a man in Recife, Brazil. The man, Cassio Macedo, expressed interest in starting a CTK and asked for help. Three weeks and a number of conversations later, Cassio has started two small groups including about 15 people total. It has been very inspiring to hear how God has opened up opportunities for Cassio to speak to people about starting a new kind of church, and how God has moved in surprising ways to help one woman confess faith in Christ for the first time at one of the first small group meetings Cassio held! It seems clear that God is up to something! Please keep Cassio in your prayers as he continues to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in this exciting development!
