Dear CTKers,
Arrows Out generic logo
This season the CTK location where I serve has been singing a new Christmas song called "Born That We May Have Life".  It serves to remind me that we have a great message to share - Christ came to the world so that we might have life - and have it abundantly (John 10:10).  Recently, Lead Pastor Dave Browning spent 4 weeks training CTK leaders around the world, in India, Kenya, South Africa, Pakistan, and for the first time in the Philippines.  Hearing Dave's stories first hand, I have been reminded again that Jesus truly is alive and working all around the world.  He was born not just that we may have life, but so that the whole world might have life!  May we all share that message in our own circle of influence this season!

Sincerely,
Director, CTK Network Resources
Browning trains hundreds of leaders on worldwide trip
Dave Browning headshot 2008

CTK Lead Pastor Dave Browning  traveled literally around the world during the month of November, training CTK leaders in the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Kenya, and South Africa.

Dave writes, "The topic of the training was Kingdom Leadership.  The premise of the material was that there are three spheres of leadership that build upon each other:  Private Leadership (leading ones self), Personal Leadership (leading others), and Public Leadership (leading organizations).  I was able to teach this material 11 times in 23 days in the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Kenya and South Africa.  I asked all those who were trained to, in turn, train 10 to 100 other leaders in the material in the next two years, so hopefully this effort will yield fruit to come.

In the process it was also my privilege to meet for the first time our leaders in the Philippines and Pakistan, Ronaldo Mamintod, and Shahbaz John, respectively.  I have been in correspondence with these men for a couple years, but on this trip we "sealed" and celebrated their part in the CTK story.

God is moving in similar ways around the world.  Men and women with great love for God and people are reaching out and establishing small groups and Worship Centers.  They are prioritizing Worship, Small Groups and Outreach.  They are creative, resourceful and focused.  In these respects, it is clear that the best thing about CTK is the dedicated people who comprise it.  There are instances in which our leaders serve under threat of Hindu and Muslim extremists.  Our leaders are of uncommon spiritual fiber, and I am blessed to call them brothers."

Dave would like to express his gratitude to all who prayed for his safety and stamina on this journey.

CTK Philippines officially joins the movement

Mamintod Family 2010After waiting nearly a year for Dave Browning's visit, Pastor Ronaldo Mamintod and a network of 13 worship centers have officially joined the CTK movement. There are three Worship Centers in Surallah, three in the tribal regions in the mountains, the rest in area towns.  They are planning on rapidly expanding, however, and there are ten additional pastors who want to get involved in the near future.

As with all our international leaders, we did not go seeking Ronaldo, but he found us.  As an unaffiliated Pastor in the Philippines, he began searching for a group to join that was about rapid multiplication, not addition, of disciples.  He found CTK on the internet and contacted Dave Browning more than a year ago.

Buy coffee...support CTK pastors overseas

CTK pastRethink Coffee Logoors overseas work sacrificially to share the gospel in their communities with little or no financial support. In order to help support these servants, CTK International is partnering with ReThink Coffee to turn the simple act of purchasing coffee into sustainable support for our CTK pastors.

The ReThink Coffee subscription service delivers 3 lbs of the world's best fairly traded, shade-grown, organic coffee to your door for only $32.90, with free shipping, on the schedule you choose. Freshly roasted and delivered by Camano Island Coffee Roasters, it's the top 1% of the world's specialty coffee.

When you order your coffee through ReThink Coffee, CTK will receive 8% of every delivery to support the work of our pastors overseas. That's $3,158.40 in a calendar year if only 100 people order a monthly subscription. That can go a long way in India, Asia, and Africa!  In addition, 20% returns to South American coffee farmers to break the cycle of poverty as they buy land, build infrastructure, and create a self-sustaining future.

It's a win-win-win. Sign up now at www.rethinkcoffee.com. There are no sign-up fees or obligations so you can cancel at any time.

CTK Whidbey participating in Advent Conspiracy

Clean WaterWhen Pastor Todd King of CTK Whidbey Island (WA) learned that Americans spend $450 billion each year on Christmas, compared to the $10 billion it would cost to provide clean drinking water sources to everyone in the world, he decided to join churches across America in something called the Advent Conspiracy.
{View intro video}

The Advent Conspiracy is a challenge to individuals and churches to scale back spending on Christmas "stuff" and instead support organizations like Living Water that are providing deep water wells in areas with no clean drinking water.

Last year, the members of CTK Whidbey Island redirected about $9000 of presents they would have given or received, and supported the installation of a well in Guatemala and Ethiopia.  This year, the three congregations of CTK Whidbey are attempting to raise $10,000 to install 2 wells in a remote area of Peru (where 25% of the population does not have access to clean drinking water).

Anyone is welcome to join this project.  Donations may be made by an individual or in the name of someone else at www.ctkonline.com/livingwater.  Donation certificates may be downloaded by the donor or sent directly to the recipient.
