You may be receiving this newsletter for the first time.  If so, let me introduce you to this monthly newsletter that highlights the work of Christ the King Community Church around the world.  Each month you'll receive news about our growing network of small groups and worship centers.  The purpose is to inform you of the larger picture of what God is doing across the entire CTK network, and to help inspire you to live out the mission of CTK where you are.  If for some reason you do not want to continue receiving this newsletter, simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom.

Sincerely,

Where in the world is Dave Browning?
Dave Browning headshot 2008

CTK Lead Pastor Dave Browning has embarked on a 24 day round-the-world trip to connect with, encourage, and train many of our international leaders.  Dave's travels will take him to the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Kenya, and South Africa before he returns home just before Thanksgiving.

In the Philippines, Dave will meet with a group of pastors who have been waiting to meet with him about joining the CTK Network.  In India, Dave will reconnect with Yedidya Parker, National Pastor for India and around 100 pastors.  While in Pakistan, Dave will make the first ever personal contact between CTK in America and Pastor Shahbaz John and his network of pastors who have been a part of CTK for a couple years.  In Kenya, Dave will meet with Kenya national pastor Austin Oyula and leaders from across the region.  While in South Africa, Dave will meet with Continental Pastor Thinus Coetzee and a group of pastors.

If you would like to follow Dave's adventures, check out this blog:  http://whereintheworldisdavebrowning.blogspot.com.  Please keep Dave in your prayers this month.

CTK emerging in Chicagoland

KandisHeckler

What's the second largest city in Illinois? It's Aurora, Illinois, approximately 50 miles west of Chicago. That is where Pastor Kandis Heckler has started a brand new CTK location. The church originally began in a "Seasoned Citizens" community room and has moved to a homeless shelter where she teaches a weekly Bible study.  Negotiations are underway to share a facility with another ministry starting in 2011.  This will open up the door for ministries such as a tutorial program for school age children, an English Language Learners class, a Business Networking monthly luncheon,  and an open mic night for teens once a month.

She is very excited that the community is culturally diverse and the church will be centrally located steps away from the heart of the downtown area, making it accessible for those using public transportation. About this new work, Heckler says, "The vision of CTK-Aurora is the same as all of the other CTK churches around the world: 'To see a prevailing, multi-location church emerge that will transform the spiritual landscape.'  I am so excited that the Lord has chosen me to be a part of such an amazing experience."

To find out more about connecting with CTK Aurora, contact Pastor Kandis or visit www.ctkonline.com/aurora.

New work starting in Bitterroot, Montana

Doug PetersonPastor Doug Peterson has spent over 15 years as a pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), but having recently moved from Washington state to the Bitterroot, Montana region, he is ready to start something different.  Presently, Doug is gathering a core group to hopefully launch a new CTK worship center in early 2011.  The plan is to meet privately with his core group for now, hold some informational meetings in December, and hopefully launch at least two small groups in January.

If you or someone you know may be interested in helping get CTK Bitterroot started, please contact Pastor Doug or go to www.ctkonline.com/bitterroot.

CTK expanding to the Kitsap Peninsula (WA)Barrett Family
Pastor Paul Barrett and his family have spent the last couple of years in Kingston, WA waiting for God to provide open doors for gathering a group of believers who will reach out to unchurched people.  God seems to be answering those prayers.  At this time, Paul is holding weekly meetings in his home with a core group of people who share his vision for reaching out to the North Kitsap area with the love, acceptance, and forgiveness of Christ.

If you or someone you know may be interested in helping get this new body started, contact Pastor Paul or go to www.ctkonline.com/northkitsap.
