Dear CTKers,
Arrows Out generic logo
In this edition of CTKNews, we celebrate the birth of a new worship center in Florida, the foundations of a new center in the exact opposite corner of the USA, and the grand opening of a new building for another congregation in Washington.  These new works are coming about because ordinary people are stepping out in faith to give of their time, energy, and resources to reach out to more people in the name of Christ.  Hats off to those who are truly living "Arrows Out" to keep sharing the good news of life in Christ.

Sincerely,
Director, CTK Network Resources
CTK Port Orange (FL) brings CTK "from sea to shining sea"
Scott and Jennifer Kirschner with their 4 children
Kirschner Family
CTK's first worship center on the East Coast is holding it's first official worship service on Sunday, July 11 in Port Orange, FloridaPastor Scott Kirschner sent this update:

Starting a new work is an exciting adventure, as I'm sure you know. My wife, Jen and I and our four kids are getting settled in our new community and are so excited about what God is doing. We have been meeting with our core team on Sundays and working our way through Deliberate Simplicity. Our people are loving the clear identity that we have as a new church. I believe it is so important that our whole church know who we are and where we are heading, that I will be doing a six week sermon series using the six parts of the deliberate simplicity equation. I am expecting God to use this to help lay the right foundation for our church.

God has opened up the door for us to meet in an elementary school  with very nice facilities. It is already equipped with a decent sound and visual system. Someone commented that a lot of money was spent on it and it doesn't get used that much. My reply was, "I believe God had it here for us. He knew we could put it to good use sharing His truth." We have been able to outfit the auditorium with some decor and furniture to give an institutional room a very casual family room feel. Everyone in our church can't wait to bring their friends and family to show them how different a worship service can be: a place where we mean, "Come as you are".

Our first Sunday service is July 11 and we are thrilled to get started. On July 4th our people passed out free bottled water and ice pops along with invitations to our weekend services. We are hoping to really start spreading the word about CTK Port Orange. Please pray for us as we launch.

CTK Whidbey expanding to South Whidbey

Jonathan Oleson
CTK Whidbey (WA) pastor Todd King is excited to see plans coming together for the possible launch of a third worship center on Whidbey Island this fall.  Currently CTK Whidbey consists of worship centers in Oak Harbor and Coupeville, but a leadership team for a center on South Whidbey is being formed.  Former pastor of CTK Oak Harbor Jonathan Oleson is currently seeking people from within CTK Whidbey and from the communities of South Whidbey who are interested in serving as part of the launch team.

"We are prayerfully moving forward, and waiting upon God to bring us the right people to make this dream a reality," says King.  Previous efforts at starting a CTK on South Whidbey have stalled when issues such as locations to meet and adequate leadership have not been available.  With Pastor Jonathan on board and a location ready to go, all that is needed is people who want to sacrifice their time and effort to see this new worship center get started.  If you or someone you know might be interested in joining this effort on the ground floor, contact Pastor Jonathan Oleson at 360-279-9068. Check out CTK Burlington's new digs at open house
CTK Burlington stage CTK Burlington (WA) began meeting in their new worship center in June.  The new space has more seating for worship services, and much improved gathering spaces for midweek and after-service meetings.  I received this open invitation to an Open House:

CTK Burlington is having an Open House Luncheon on July 22nd at 12pm.  We are thrilled to be able to share the celebration of our new worship center, located at 988 Fountain Street. With prayerful direction from God, and through the donations, dedication and devotion of the generous people in Burlington, we took a vacant bland warehouse and renovated it to an inviting place to use as we reach out to our community.

CTK Burlington signThis Open House gives us the opportunity to invite the community to come in and check us out plus thank all the supporting businesses and contractors who took part in the renovation.

We encourage anyone and everyone to stop by and say hi.  Come by and see the place that we here at CTK Burlington are calling "home".
