CTK News  Sept 2009
Dear friends,

Back to school time means it's time to get back into more "normal" routines for many families.  As things get "revved up" for the fall I hope you'll seek ways to get involved in a small group near you.  God may even be prompting you to take a step of faith and start a new small group.  You'll find information about small group leadership at www.ctkonline.com under "Start Something", "Start a Small Group".  Let's all stick to the basics - loving God and loving people!

Sincerely,

Director, Network Resources

BapServFeast at CTK Nampa

Nampa BapServFeast2009CTK Nampa enjoyed a "BapServFeast" on July 19, 2009.  We moved our worship service from the wonderful confines of the Reel Theater to outside.  We met on the shores of Lake Lowell, followed by a potluck ("Feast").  Following the "Feast" there was a dove release in honor of Rick & Patti Snodgrass' wedding anniversary.  We planned to have baptisms in the lake, but due to some sort of hazardous green algae growth in the lake, we moved the baptism to the pool at LeRoy & Carol Redding's home.  Seven people were baptized, including the first couple to come to Christ through CTK Nampa.  A special moment for each participant included releasing a white dove for each person baptized.

CTK Nampa is on Facebook!  Join us and rejoice with us with what God is doing at CTK Nampa.

Free At Last raises $18,500 to fight human trafficking
Tee It Up golfersFree At Last Ministries hosted "Tee It Up To Drive Out Human Trafficking" on Friday, July 31 at Avalon Golf Links. There were 99 golfers including several law enforcement officers from Bellingham and Lake Stevens. The evening banquet and auction was well attended with 170 people. Free At Last would like to thank the golfers and the over 100 local sponsors that made this event such a huge success especially for a first year tournament. Space does not permit listing all of our wonderful sponsors. Thank you to each one of you.
Because of our sponsors, golfers, and crew of 25 very giving volunteers, Free At Last raised $18,500. The money will go to International Justice Mission (ijm.org). IJM is a human rights agency that rescues victims of human trafficking in difficult and dangerous places around the world.

Women's Retreat spaces filling fast

CedarSpringsRetreatCenterLadies,
Just a quick reminder about the 2009 CTK Women's Retreat. It will be held November 13-15 at Cedar Springs Christian Conference Center in Sumas, WA.  We have about 20 to 30 spaces left, and we are praying for just the right women to fill them.  Expect laughter and fun, relaxation and renewal, and a closer walk with our Lord...and real beds and good food!

The speaker is Teresa Rinker of Healing Hearts Ministries. Carolyn Nichols and her daughter Karissa are providing music and worship.

We have need of a special lady to be our emcee for the weekend.  We also would like help with the nametags.  Are you creative?  Help! Please contact Laina at 360-848-7581 if you feel God leading you to help in one of these ways.
Due to planning constraints with Cedar Springs Christian Conference Center, the last day to sign up is Oct 31.  The cost of the retreat if you sign up before September 15 is $140.  On September 15 the price goes up to $190 to cover administrative costs, so sign up soon.

The planning team is praying God's blessings on you and your families.
