CTK News  April 2009
Dear friends,

Romans 5:6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

May God restore your wonder at the miracle of Jesus' love for us all this Easter.

Sincerely,

Director, Network Resources

Pakistani Jailer Saved
The following letter was received from Shahbaz John, our National Director in Pakistan, regarding exciting developments at the Christian church they built in a Pakistani prison. (view pictures)

Hoping you are fine and blessed. We are happy to share with you that one of the Muslim jail employees, Muhammad Gulam Rasool, joined the Bible Study in Central Jail in Sahiwal, Pakistan. He shared with me that when he saw the Christian prisoners praying and learning the Word of the Lord, he saw the Lord Jesus Christ sitting with them and a white light came upon on them. He knelt down where he was standing on duty and began praying but doesn't know what he was saying in the prayer. After several minutes he went to the church and  joined them as a church regular and joined the Bible study class as well. He and his family accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Praise the Lord!

We thank our Lord who saves many lives in this center. We are requesting that you pray for Muhammad Gulam Rasool and his family who accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior. May the Lord bless them.

Grateful,

Rev. Shahbaz John

Burlington adds House Fellowships to Easter Celebrations
CTK Burlington will have House Fellowships on Easter.  In addition to the regular schedule of services they are encouraging "House Fellowships" on Easter - homes that will be open to participate in the service via video. Weekly services have been broadcast live over the internet the last couple of months, but this marks the first time they have encouraged people to gather together in a home to experience the service together.  The morning services are being streamed over the internet live Two locations have been identified and they are looking for two more.  An ideal location would have high-speed internet access, a room that would accommodate at least 20 people, and a host with a vibrant social network that could be invited.  To view the service click here at 9:30 or 10:45 on Sunday morning.
Bible college/orphanage being built in India
Parker FamilyCTK Coupeville attenders Ron and Sue Christenson recently traveled to visit CTK India National Director Yedidya Parker and his family.  Below is a report from their trip.

Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

We have just returned from Hyderabad, India where we visited Yedidya Parker and family and assessed the situation there. Thankfully,we found the family steadily at their tasks of bringing the Kingdom of God to earth.  Work has now begun on an orphanage and Bible College building which is a good two hour drive south of the city. The air is much cleaner there and there is a well, so the water problem, so great in India, is solved. The "U' shaped building, which fills the ½ acre parcel will be taking shape soon. At present the surrounding wall is being built and the well pump motor is being installed.  Materials are assembled and work has begun!  The orphans will move in when the bottom of the "U" has been completed, the first phase.  Funds are needed for the continuance of the building. Pray for the success of the project.  Yedidya has taken on the job to save the cost of the contractor. He will need to employ good workers. One of the best benefits of the recent trip over was to get to know him better. We are convinced of his integrity, and are assured that he knows Jesus as few on earth do, as he has proved him over and over. He has a passion for the salvation of souls so that wherever he is, he is about the Kingdom's business.  We urge you to prayerfully consider supporting this effort. We will keep you informed and updated.

Also, a ½ acre piece of property adjoining this land we describe, is for sale for $14,500 which will undoubtedly be needed and a benefit; if there is anyone out there who feels they could contribute toward that, please do.

Yours in Christ Jesus,
Ron & Sue Christensen

Far away in the land of India
Lives a pastor by the name of Yedidya
With a wife by the name of Sandra
And of children, he has a handful-of-ya!
Four of their own all studying hard
Twenty two more with no playing yard
Sandra is washing clothes by the dozens
And cooking food without any ovens...

San Juan Island women connect with CTK Kenya
FH women's retreatOn March 20-22 women from the community on San Juan Island (WA) and beyond gathered together while putting Love into Action.  Sixty five women, representing at least six local church gatherings of God's people both within San Juan county and from as far as Florida, gathered at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island to explore "Love is a Verb".   As they learned from able teachers what it meant to be "God's Beloved", they also explored practical ways to put their love into action.  Breakout sessions included many 'love' activities: making a quilt for a mom-to-be, prayer shawls for the sick and hurting, notes of encouragement for neighbors.  A silent auction was held of beaded jewelry provided by the women of CTK Kenya to raise funds for ministry in Kenya.  This has created a bond between San Juan island women and as a result several anticipate traveling to Kenya to teach quilting there.  The many practical opportunities to express love for each other and their community created a very real opportunity for the women to experience Jesus in personal ways.  The Body of Christ was made manifest this weekend.
