***CORRECTION FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING REPORT:
An importnat note regarding the Safe Routes to School Grant is that Routt County Riders was a major partner on the grant, but the grant was awarded to the Routt County government through CDOT. RCR grant writer Johanna Hall worked very hard on this grant, RCR wrote a strong support letter for the grant, and several RCR members were on the grant committee, including County Commissioner Diane Mitsch Bush who will be managing the grant.

BICYCLE FRIENDLY BUSINESS (BFB) PROGRAM
A volunteer has stepped forward to take on the task of Committee Chair for the Bicycle Friendly Business Program. A meeting is planned for May in hopes to move forward with the program.
The BFB program helps business plan for how they might participate in cycling related events and help achieve community cycling goals at the same time. It also enables businesses to extend the reach of their support for cycling events or projects into a year-round message.
This will be a great opportunity for businesses to contribute to the many RCR events, support the cycling community and be recognized for the partnership. If you have a Bicycle Friendly Business get in touch about enrolling in the program. Volunteers are needed for this committee. Please contact Jackieif you are interested. |

| MEMBERSHIP REPORT
There are currently 160 paid memberships for 2010. Memberships for 2009 are now expired and you can sign up for 2010 membership which is due buy June 1, 2010.
The membership committee researched costs for membership cards as well as stickers as incentives for members to join and to have something tangible to send to new members. They proposed to the Board that RCR spend $1072 to purchase membership cards and $1000 for RCR stickers. Discussion from members at the meeting was that the purchase of membership cards would be wasteful, but they were favorable to the idea of stickers. There were suggestions for other tangible items such as a bottle opener or water bottle. The Board approved $1000 in spending for new RCR stickers.
Routt County Riders is partnering with the Steamboat Winter Sports Club Youth Cycling program this year by offering each child that is a part of a family membership with Routt County Riders a $20 discount on their registration. Contact Ben Clark for details.
