Truth and wisdom are everywhere. We are students of life. The more I look, the more I see. The more I seek, the more I find. The more I listen, the more I hear. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Isn't it the greatest mystery and the simplest puzzle both at the same time that we can create our own reality by the way we think and the attitudes we choose? Thoreau said, "
What a man thinks of himself, that it is which determines, or rather indicates, his fate."
Inspired by the teachings of Abraham, Joel Osteen, Ernest Holmes, and many others, I've been turning my face and thoughts to beauty, love, possibility and joy, and focusing only on things that make me feel good. The more I do that, the more good things come to me. It's a beautiful thing.
Having been a positive thinker for decades, it may seem that this is nothing new. But it is. Native American healer and physician, Lewis Mehl-Madrona taught me, "
Every thought is a prayer and every prayer is answered." I knew it was the truth when I first heard him say these words during an interview on Wisdom TV in 2000.
The newness for me in the present is that I've discovered thoughts have
vibrations, just as words, music and my paintings do. We bring a vibrational intent to everything we do. It's not just the words, but how we say them, how we feel them and what the emotional component is. Thus, I am taking Thomas Jefferson's words to heart ("
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance"), and being eternally vigilant of how I am feeling and what I am thinking, using my thoughts and feelings as indicators of deliberate creation.
I'm having so much fun with this process of thinking good thoughts and focusing only on what feels good, more than ever before (perhaps because I am now relaxing into it), life is like playing a board game, or perhaps like acting in a play.
The more I see beauty, the more beauty I see. In my meditations, I'm envisioning adventures that lie ahead for me. I'm imagining where it might be that I will travel to as I enjoy my journey here on Earth. As Shakespeare says, "All the world's a stage" and Thoreau, "
This world is but canvas to our imaginations."
Here are the treasures I've found to celebrate with you the new beginnings each day brings to every one of us. You are in my thoughts, dreams and prayers.
