Basque Tapas Menu
In this class we will prepare some of the most
authentic and delicious recipes for a perfect Tapas
evening paired with Spanish wines.
The Basque tapeo is about socializing, eating and
drinking high quality, uncomplicated, robust foods
and beverages. It reflects the French-Spanish border
approach to life-- an itinerant ?tasting and tippling?
stemming from the love of play and pleasure. The
concept of little dishes, eating with the fingers,
sharing, all done with a glass in hand and while
conducting an animated conversation is what makes
this approach such a delight. Join Chef Hope
Sandler in this hands-on class where you will have an
opportunity to prepare Basque tapeo with a seasonal
bounty that includes such delights as the freshest
seafood, serrano ham, olives, almonds, cheeses,
and peppers and learn about sherry and wines of the
region.
Menu
- Tortilla Espanola: Spanish Omelet
- Garlicky Shrimp
- Grilled Portobello Mushrooms with Almond
Gremolata
- Crostini Duet: Grilled Serrano Ham and
Manchego Cheese, Tuna and Olive
- Carrots Seasoned with Herbs
- Fragrant Roasted Almonds
- Marinated Spanish Olives
Due to time constraints we will not be preparing
dessert, but our resident Chef Eloy who hails from
Malaga Spain will provide us with an authentic
dessert.

the
world to a setting reminiscent of the private
auberge's of Europe. As in those quiet and secluded
auberge's of Europe, we are also well off the beaten
path, covering five acres in the forest of evergreens,
especially enticing for lovers who seek a romantic
setting away from prying eyes for the day, week or
longer. Lovers can roam the grounds, sit on the
surround veranda, enjoy home made tarts, cakes and
other eateries upon request.
