    Had the legendary Carthagenian general Hannibal Barca had his way, the Romans would not have been able to have their "Fossa Regia" in Tunisia. So maybe, the country would not have had to endure that centuries old geo-economic divide.

    In collaboration with the Tunisian Community Center, the USA Youth Debates, Inc. is launching the Tunisia-USA debates project scheduled for 2012, from March 18th to the 27th.


    Students interested in being part of the delegation to Tunisia, need to contact TCC.

    AFRICAN DAY PARADE

    We need volunteers to represent Tunisia at the 5th annual African Day Parade in New York.

    Pan-African in scope, the annual parade will bring together all people of African descent, showcasing the beauty, intensity and diversity of African Culture.

    It will take place on Sunday, October 9th , 2011 in Harlem, NY. It will start at 10 AM from 135th Street to 122nd Street along Malcolm X Boulevard (Lenox Avenue).

    The Tunisian folkloric ensemble Layali Carthage will take part in the event... So, wear something Tunisian and join the parade!

    TUNISIAN-AMERICAN THINK TANK

    Established in 2005 by the Tunisian Community Center, the Ibn Khaldun Institute aims to be the Tunisian American Think Tank focusing on the outreach to Tunisia.

    The Institute is partnering with an international development NGO for a project of supporting Civil Society in Tunisia.

    At this stage, we are looking for a few dedicated individuals with expertise in the following areas:
    -Human Resources Management
    -Business Development
    -Government/Public Relations

    This is a great opportunity for members of our community to directly contribute to the socio-economic development of post-revolution Tunisia.

    On September 14, 2011, Elka Consulting, a market research company, published its findings of its survey of the Tunisian public opinion towards the upcoming elections.

    The findings are summarized in the following article (in French) that appeared in September 15th issue of the electronic magazine "Investir En Tunisie".

    The Ibn Khaldun Award steering committee is seeking proposals from the various chapters interested in hosting the next Tunisian American Day to be held on Saturday May 26, 2012.

    Proposals should describe the followings:

    • The strength of the Chapter
    • The hosting team's commitment to the event production
    • Attractiveness of the venue
    • Type of academic institution for the event
