| TUNISIAN OF THE MONTH |
 |
|
On May 17, 2009, The Community Gazette
editors Jihane
BenKhedher and Ali Khemili conducted the following
in-person interview with Sulaika Zarrouk at her
Manhattan office. It revealed that she is a Designer
with deep Tunisian roots and high American reach; a
person very much like her creations: attractive and
bright. The interview also revealed that she is
as talented as she is echo-smart.
At the end of the interview, she gave a present to
members of our community: a generous 20%
discount* on any Felix
Rey products purchased on line.
We just need to enter the following promotional code
at the checkout page: FRTCC20
*The promotion runs May 3 thru May 18, 2009.

| PROCLAMATIONS |
 |
|
Like other ethnic communities in the United States,
the Tunisian American community has a tradition of
celebrating its Heritage: "The Tunisian American Day".
It is an annual event established in 2005 by the
Tunisian Community Center and held on the birthday
anniversary of Ibn Khaldun (May 27th). So far, we were
able to secure two official proclamation endosements.
Contact your local government official's
communications office to identify the action needed to
designate May 27 as National "Tunisian American
Day" in your community.
-Contact information can usually be found online
or in
your local phone book.
-Send them a draft of the proclamation so they have to
do as little work as possible.
