NHOHVA Legislative Alert |
Senate Bill 250
NHOHVA would like to announce a full committe work session of the Resources, Recreation and Development Committee on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10:40 AM in the Legislative Office Building, Room 305, Concord, NH. An Executive Session may follow.
Here is some background on SB 250. The amendment analysis language of the bill reads as follows:
"This bill adds specific exceptions to the evaluation criteria for the establishment of ATV and trail
bike trails on state lands, and allows for OHRV operation on certain highways and trail crossings
and connectors in Coos county."
The specific highways being discussed for OHRV operation are Back Lake Road in Pittsburg, from the town dump to Route 3; Route 3 in Pittsburg from the intersection of Back Lake Road to Route 145; Route 145 in Pittsburg and Clarksville from the intersection of Route 3 to Cedar Stream Road; Diamond Pond Road in Stewartstown from the town-owned section south to Charles Heath Road; Jericho Lake Road in Berlin from Route 110 to Jericho Mountain State Park; and the reduced speed section of Route 3 in North Stratford village as needed to reach services.
NHOHVA strongly supports any expansion of allowed OHRV use in New Hampshire and everywhere else. This bill also serves the potential to assist with the New Hampshire north country economy, and NHOHVA also strongly supports that as well.
Please join NHOHVA on May 1 in support of Senate Bill 250. Help us show the New Hampshire legislature that the enthusiasts of our sport care about promoting our sport in positive light to the public and the powers that be. Show New Hamshire that we care about our sport with NHOHVA! |

Supercross Update |
After having clenched the 2012 Supercross Championship title, two-time Supercross champion and defending outdoor Motocross champion Ryan Villopoto injured his knee Saturday night before his hometown crowd of Seattle.
Villopoto will undurgo knee surgury and will not be defending his outdoor title. In a recent conversation with NHOHVA, the champion informed us that although he has worked hard preparing for the outdoor season and he is disappointed he will not see that hard work come to fruition, at the same time he has come back from injury before and he knows what it takes to get back. Good luck, Ryan, NHOHVA will be rooting for you! Get well soon to Ryan and all to the long list of other riders injured in the 2012 season: Christian Craig, Michael Byrne, Tommy Hahn, Tyla Rattray, Ryan Dungey, Josh Hansen, James Steward, Josh Hill, Nick Wey, Chris Blose, Ivan Tedesco Ben Townley and Bryce Valley heal up soon, everyone. |
