Will you be getting your hands down and dirty this summer with some rich Alfisol, Histosol or Ultisol? Perhaps spreading some organic love through fertilizer? How about spending hours mowing, clipping and preening Centipede, Bahia or Zoysia?

If you are unfamiliar with the above names, that means you haven't given your landscape design garden or lawn the attention it deserves and needs.

Do a little research through your local bookstore, or go online to find out the differences between organic and synthetic fertilizers. Take a look at the plants, trees or flowers in your landscape design. What do they say about you? What do they say about the interior of your dwelling?

If you don't notice your surroundings, people won't notice your habitat, whether it's work or play. This summer will you let attention to detail predetermine impressions or will you get motivated and dive into the pool of horticultural landscape design madness?

Did You Know?
The Importance of Mulching

Did you know that mulch is a huge part of keeping landscapes hydrated? Mulch is used to retain moisture around the base of plants, keeping the plant roots warm and allowing water to seep slowly into the ground. Mulch is also a natural weed suppressor.

If you don't like using pesticides, mulch provides a great natural option for fighting off weeds and pests. Mulch is an inexpensive and efficient landscape maintenance solution.
