Robert J Riesberg Antiques

Fine 17th, 18th, and 19th Century Antiques

Greetings,
This lovely curly maple chest is from a distinguished local collection and a lovely example in older amber finish. Made in 18th century New England, this Chippendale tall chest has been well cared for in its 250 year life. Examining the tray top you can see the dovetailed construction within the molded cornice. Six graduated drawers, each with a molded edge carry "bat-wing" brass pulls , some of the period but a second set to this piece. Below is a tall, well shaped and original bracket base. I see no major repairs. Priced for the alert buyer at $1500. Height 4' 5".

The quarter view of the square rigger ship is oil on canvas and of the early 20th century with a correct later gilt frame.  A large canvas, the blue skies and full sails would offer a nautical hint and charm to your rooms. Signed "T. Bailey " in the lower right, a fictive signature, this is part of a group of popular nautical themed paintings by various artists of the period. Size 34 1/2" X 27".
The Chinese export punch bowl is early 19th century with floral decoration in vivid tones. The diameter is 11 1/2" with some conditions notes (not repaired, but with two side cracks). Thoroughly antique and great for decoration.
