" Have nothing in your house which you do not believe to be either beautiful or practical." - Edith Wharton.

Greetings,

This beautiful George II mahogany sideboard offers practicality as well. Flame grain mahogany outlined in line inlay and dark well-grained banding decorates the astragal corner top. Storage includes a bottle drawer to the left and a tambour compartment below. The tapering Hepplewhite legs terminate in spade feet. All circa 1785-1810, Britain. Some alteration. Very good wood color and patina. L. 72", d. 25", h. 36". Enjoy the elegance and functionality of the 18th century  in your rooms. I caution the interested not to hesitate here. $2450.
Also "on board", a large pair of carved and gilt Italian candlesticks. These have been carefully drilled (hidden) at some point and can be easily wired if you desire. Height 25".
Both Chinese celadon vases have hand drawn blue slip decoration and date in the 19th century. Both are about 17" tall for dramatic table top use.
The charger is Chinese, 18th century, and beautifully painted with white geese and cranes among tree peonies with a fretwork garden fence. D. 15+".
