Fine 17th, 18th, and 19th Century Antiques

Greetings,
Last week we took a quick but eventful tour in New England. What we saw was heavy interest and competition between buyers for better and best quality. We were lucky enough to buy a few good pieces which we hope to offer here in a few weeks.

For American furniture lovers we just purchased this Boston area Chippendale bowfront chest, circa 1760-90's. This is a small size which begs for use in your living room or hallways. Width is 39" overall or 37" case width, height 33", and depth at the center 21 1/2". White pine secondary wood. The feet are full height applied brackets . The top edge has arrow inlay above a rare brush slide for brushing or folding. When's the last time you saw such a nice original Chippendale bowfront?
Also above, the Italian gessoed and painted settee is in unrefinished state and sound, with correct older velvet damask cover. Please note carved details throughout.  The painted surface is a marvelous softly worn combination of white gesso, rose paint, and gilt. With this comes a great feel of ancient elegance and charm. Length is 78".  $3150.
The phoenix at the crest of this dramatic gilt 18th century Georgian mirror is strongly angled over the glass as if to take flight. He is supported by scroll work above a rectangular frame with a molded rim with lamb's tongue corners inside leafage as well as scrolls at each side. Old glass. 40" x 20" . $2795.
    Also, for your inspection:
1. A Chinese 19th century blue slip on white porcelain vase, H. 17". $210.
2. A Chinese 19th century small ginger jar in the Canton style, 4 1/2" tall. $150.
3. Baroque style cast brass English sconces, late 19th or early 20th century. Formerly wired. H. 14". W. 8". $295 the pair.
4. A " lotus pattern"  lamp from a Chinese blue on white porcelain jar. The jar, 19th century. Overall height, 22", circa 1840's.   $295 complete with cloth cord.  I have a variety of lamps from early jars available.

May we answer further questions or provide more detailed images? We look forward to your call or visit. This update provides only partial updates to our collection. we promise new acquisitions for your inspection each week.

   Warm regards,
